Default What is the closest substitute to the LMRC

So I picked up a losi micro crawler that was a mess. Finally got it all sorted out and going as it should and its a lot of fun inside on a rainy day. So now I need to find 2 more micro crawlers for the kids. What is the closest thing to the losi? We are notIt into scale so that doesn't matter. I was looking at the ecx temper which looks like a pretty close copy of the losi. What are your thoughts?

The Trekker and Micro Crawler are the best out there. The Temper would be fine for kids. Its not as capable as Losi, but they work fine and are more affordable. Or you could go with the Redcat Sumo, which comes with 4 wheels steering out of the box. The Basher Rocksta is also one that comes with 4 wheel steering out of the box and is affordable. I have heard of some esc issues with the Rocksta. The only issue I have heard about the Temper is limited steering as apparently the wheels tend to hit the upper links if the wheels are turned all the way to the left or right. I think Temper is the best product for what it seems like you are looking for...

There's two Chinese clones that resemble the LMC on banggood.com for less than $100. I don't know how good but they look similar.

The Rocksta is a MOA and I don't think what you're looking for.

Just got one of these from Gearbest last month:

For £32 delivered, I'm not complaining!

You will need to swap around the ball links and snip some of the springs off the shocks to get better performance.

Not using the stock Rx/Tx/battery so YMMV...

$33 for now. I figured I'd give it a go for that price.

Seems like the losi micro is pretty hard to find even used.

They are. Check user Fungi's website out. He had some put back when they were discontinued.

Losi Trekker, for sure. Fungi even sells adjustable links so you can shorter the wheelbase If you want it just like the Micro crawler.

I run a Redcat Sumo Crawler. I love it to be honest. Some mods and I think you're good to go. Its got 4 wheel steer and that is so nice. Only mods I've done are: trim the body, reposition shock positions on chassis, some sticker led weights on front and back. The biggest and best mod have been RC4WD 1" steel beadlock wheels and Scramber tires. The tires (with foams) are great on grip and ground clearance (they are 2.5" tall). Fantastic mod!! I am still running stock aaa'a (Panasonic Omloops). At full charge I am getting 1.5v each and total of almost 6v with 1000mah. I am contemplating the lipo conversion only for power sake but stock is still good imo. Anyway, don't discredit this crawler. Redcat customer service has been very good too. I have had to change out a rear servo and a motor but as much as I run it, that is to be expected.

Also, the Basher Rocsta looks good and has great features like MOA and great price. BUT.....don't get it. I had one and within a few weeks the stock, plastic gears stripped out. I used it so intelligently and this still happened. Hobbyking has metal gears for it but they are forever on back order. Tons of others users have this same complaint. Consider this a sad but true warning.
