Default wheel hex - stupid n00b q... hah

ok so its been YEARS since ive touched my micros.. and im trying to get the hex off the end. I have metal ones... they just slide on right? cant believe I forgot. I think the pin holds the axle from going too far in so it doesn't bind the dogbone… ?? ive been prying and don't wanna break it..

If it doesn't have a set screw, then yes, you have to pry them off. Use two... somethings (flat screwdrivers or whatever), one from each side.
Maybe some WD40 to loosen things up?
