Kenny I'm thinking about doing the same. Did you use any internal springs?

Looks maybe a little fuel tubing on the shafts/bumpstops might help?

Can you tell us more?

I got a spring kit from Harbor Fright. Has a ton of springs in it for $10. They are inside. And yes I do need to add some tubing to them. The Losi shocks are kinda different from the norm. I'll shoot some picts of them apart tonight to show you whats going on.......

I put some 40 in them. And the rest is stock.....except the springs....the springs are just big enough to fit over the shafts. I took the stops out of them as well.....

One question, sorry if this sounds stupid, but putting fuel tube on the bottom end ( or top depending on how ur runnig ur shocks ) wouldnt this limited the amount of travel upwards or is that would u are aiming at only drop not up travel?

It would do both.....and it is running great like this! JIA just got 2 today and will run them the same. Tonight will be tearing apart to work on the tube build I'm doing on it. See my other post on it.....

Fuel tubing on the shock shaft outside the shock limits compression...the up-travel.

Fuel tubing on the shock shaft inside the shock limits down-travel (droop).

To lower the rigs we'll be running internal springs. We'll use a sleeve on the shock shaft (outside the shock body) to both limit compression and set ride height.

In the way these rigs will be set up the tubing on the shock shaft will serve three purposes:
  • Limit up-travel
  • Set ride height
  • Pre-load the internal springs
