Default My Droop Setup - Lots of pics

So yesterday we decided to bite the bullet and do a droop setup on my MRC.

So I went to my local ACE hardware and found these springs, they were the smallest/shortest/lightest I could find, but still felt stiffer than what stock was. I ended up having to cut some coils off to make them fit. Nothing major like 3-4 coils. Here's the package for reference -

I used 50 wt oil with the internal springs. I also added some 2mm washers and some small fuel tubing GPMQ4130 over the shafts to keep my belly clearance, links level and limit flex a bit.

WORD OF ADVICE! - be very careful snapping your shocks back onto the top ball link posts. It is very easy to push them on too far and crack the plastic! This comes from an idiot who's done it.

Here's the end result. Really like the stance of it.

Got a little test time with it and so far so good. Definitely not worse. I'll keep you posted.

Hope this helps everyone...

Looks good man !! Century springs are a great option IMO.

How do you like the out croppers?

I was wondering how long it would take for someone to do a good droop write up. I want one now. Droop and a hardbody could make for some cool scalers.

Yeah sorry this isn't more of a traditional build thread. We did this yesterday during work hours so I was going fast and forgot to take some pictures along the way. Hopefully the pics I did take work out.

If anyone has any questions, let me know. Glad to help.

So I decided I wasn't really happy with the fuel tubing I used. It was just too soft and didn't really limit flex at all. So I decided to continue a trick that I stole from JustZach that I run on all my other rigs.

I'm still using the same internal spring and weight setup. But instead of fuel tubing I'm using these little springs from a micro rs4.

The part # is HPI72360 and you'll need to packaged to do all four shocks...

Here's the new result.

Works much better and looks pretty cool to boot!

Here's a side shot -

and close up of belly clearance -

and a flex shot maybe still a tad too much...but it's running much better than before.

I still want to figure out a way to get my electronics lower. Still haven't seen anything yet that is clean and solves some of the mounting issues.
I think that will be another big difference maker, but so far so good. I'm running lines on my backyard course that give my 2.2 and 1.9 scaler trouble!

MSD - Montana Scale Designs and in the pics above those are RC$WD outcroppers.

In the video they are Creepy Krawlers from RC4WD.

To lower your CG (Center of Gravity). Keep everything as low as possible so the rig isn't top heavy and to help with weight transfer.

Not really. I see a bunch of white squares with red X's. Isn't that what we were supposed to be looking at?
