Jim

The screws on the Losi MRC are metric. Most of them are 2mm, but there are some 3mm screws and the wheel nuts are 4mm. Also, the links have 3mm threads.

I don't recall the 3mm screws but I also just finished a 12 hour drive from Utah . Most are 2mm or 1.5mm. All are metric

what about the included allen wrench? What is that for? was I just given a bad one? Because I can't find any screws that it fits on this truck. It is slightly smaller than the screws that it looks like it should fit and starts to strip out the heads because it can't grip. I have tried it on many different screws on the mrc and it just wont unscrew any of them. what's the deal on this? It is kind of frustrating because I'm trying to take it apart but I can't.

no thats a lock nut. I'm talking about the allen wrench, or hex wrench if you prefer. For the itty bitty countersunk screws... or atleast it looks like it should be for those. And I tried my own metric wrench that is closest and had the same results... maybe the screws suck? I wish i could atleast get the things to unscrew so I could replace them with some higher quality screws.

The wrench should be a 1.5mm. I'll double check what wrench has been included to make sure it is correct. All of the flat heads require a 1.5mm allen wrench and the cap head screws are 2mm.

Yeah I'm pretty sure it was right because I tried my own set of metric wrenches with the same results. I think the smaller screws are just a little more touchy. I'll figure a way to massage them out of the there and will probably just replace them with some harder screws. thanks rich.

that was what I was thinking but they look metric... i think. I know associated is all standard and I used to own a xxx-t mfe a few years back but can't recall what hardware that used. I want to say standard but its been awhile.

The hex sockets in the screws are definatly on the big end of the tolerance. It also seems the socket is not as deep as most ISO standard screws are.RCMFMaxxMan if you have a grinder, lightly grind the end of the hex key and leave the bur on it.This allowed me to get the screws out without stripping the hex.Hope this helps.

Rich,
There are 3mm set screws in the metal universals on the driveshafts. And the links use a 3mm thread. And 3mm threads on the ball ends for the top shock mount. The threads are indeed metric.
