Default Harley's Losi Thread

I am going to use this thread as a general parts development and personal build thread.

I thought this was a good place to start:

I drove the rig around in the van ride home from Moab for quite awhile. I just kept on testing and tuning until I drove the rest of the guys insane!

I immediately saw a few things I wanted to change and I will get to working on them ASAP.

So......where'd you get the CAD files? Those don't look like you just measured parts and drew them, but if you did you have some skills sir.It takes a lot of time to get to that level of detail "reverse engineering" parts.I'm looking forward to what you come up with for these rigs.

New motor mount to accept 480 size puller motors would be awsome

Any thought on a chassis so the uper link geometry can be adjusted and tuned

4 link plates

??????

Just a wish list , I have to modify everything, even if it works to begin with, and you have access to some tools/resources the average Joe doesnt

Nope that is just a day off work in front of the computer. There are a lot of little details left out to save time, but that is all I need.

A 480 motor? I don't see that as needed. I drove one this weekend with a stock replacement cobalt motor and it was crazy. Plus the drivetrain won't hold up to too much power.

I'm starting to think you really do know what you're doing with those CAD things.

HAHA! Nothing like a mini rock crawler course that causes you to crawl on the driver!

Now the real work starts!

I didn't know Mechanical Engineers had their own language. Sounds like some other "guys".

Yeah , over kill possibly. Its a 5 pole so start ups would be smooth.Torque and wheel speed should be great..plus I happen to have a couple laying around..they are basicall mini pullers..

check and see if they will fit in the motor area without hanging below the bottom of the trans.

Yes it will, the problem lies in the inner hole diameter and the mounting screw placement spacing. It will require a skid plate about 1/8th inch wider but that is getting changed for better link geometry anyways.

I can just hog out the original holes and make it work, but would rather keep the stock pieces intact incase I choose to run it in a spec class.

It seems that moduleous 0.6 works best on the gears. Standard 48p works too, but I need to take the spur off to get a better look.

Why do I get the impression that when you dream it's probably all CAD models?

Looking good! I remember when we first started modeling these parts. Come along way since then huh?!
