Default Mini LST Shocks work great

I had some mini LST shocks from 3 racing laying around so I threw then on the Losi MRC. Nice improvement! Reduced the articulation slightly which I wanted and 100 wt oil and the preload screwed down on the driver rear almost completely got rid of the drastic torque twist. I definately recommend these to those looking for a shock upgrade.

nice. how is the mounting situation? what screw size? i would think it would be a larger screw size and if it is did you just go ahead and drill out the mounts i take it? by the way, those things look so beefy on the tiny truck!

I just swapped in a set I had lying around also, but the stock springs are a little too stiff, and it limits the articulation quite a bit.

I used some M3x16 button head screws in place of the stock ball screws up top. The stock lower screws still work.

Are you using the 3 racing shocks? The stock springs are soft on mine.

I'm happy where the articulation ended up. It has too much in stock form.

So the hole in the bottom of the shock is made to accommodate a 3mm screw. The screws for the bottom stock shocks are 1.5mm correct? So are you just using the stock screw and allowing for "play" in the mount?

I don't think it would be a big deal...just making sure that I understand how you mounted them at the axle

The mini LST shocks have a smaller eye in the ball of the rod end that takes the smaller screw, not a typ 3mm. So there is little to no play at all. These shocks fit like they were made for it.

So your saying the TLT shocks are 1.5mm holes? I think he is asking was there any modding or drilling going on to mount them in any way?

I don't think that is what he was asking and we are not talking about the TLT in any way here, but the answer is no. There is no modding required in any way. Yes, I believe they are 1.5mm. They bolt up like they were made for it.

A link for anyone wanting a better pic of the shocks:

Nice find by the way. I like that they have a ball end at the top. I might be picking a set up.

Bottom shock mount bolts are 2mm. I added 2mmx20mm in order to out board teh shocks on the axel.
