no problems... servo does not get warm
and the esc gets alittle warm but not hot like it did with the stock one or the 255's

best thing i've done.... i just put a 645 on a second mrc

plus u can run a solid servo arm

Solid servo arm?? Do you mean aluminum?

The HS-5245 comes with an aluminum servo horn, and I believe it can run the standard size horns. I'll know for sure once the ones I ordered get here.

I broke the servo on a course today. I replaced the servo with a 645MG. Just had to fab a plate, or you can use an AX10 servo plate.

It works much better then stock. The stock one semed to struggle to get my truck to go to full throw. (I have 1.9 Panther Cougars and solid ALU beadlocks)

Default traxxas 2075

Here is the traxxas 2075 on a ax-10 plate. Lowered the lower steering linkage for better geometry. heavy duty steering horn.

my new mod to help the steering, it works great

the direct pull is ten times strong, fastm and efficient then the cross over
plus you get the full steering, from lock to lock

This is my new setup. Tower Hobbies TS-35MG with a new drag link (stocker wouldn't give me full steering throw in both directions, this one is longer and gives me full lock each way. This servo bolts right onto the stock mount, drag link took all of 2 minutes to fab up, it's just a Traxxas rod end, some 6-32 rod and a Duratrax shock end (Evader). Between the vastly improved steering and lowering both the truck and the electronics, it's like a whole new rig.

What is the path of least resistance fora servo plate for the 645? Should I plan on re-using the stock mounting towers and just replacing the plate? Is there a plate that doesn't need drilling to line up the with the stock holes? Come on...help a newbie out.

I'm a newbie too, I made a plate for my 645mg out of some scrap aluminum and tin snips in like 5 minutes. Used the stocker one to align the holes. I used the stock mounting tabs which allows you to fit the top two screws in. Otherwise from the research i've done. You can also use a Axial or TLT plate and just re-drill it.

(had to stack it on the stock plate because the screws were too long)
