Noob MRC owner and a few mod ideas

I've had a one of these for a couple of weeks now. I bought it because of it's small size and ability to drive over just about anything. Being stationed in Iraq has led me to be a bit more inventive with my mods seeing as we don't have any hobby shops or parts stores here.
I did come up with a couple of intersting mods though.
(I can't upload pictures at the moment, sorry.)
* I added weight to the front wheels by melting solder into the voids just inside the tire beads behind the rim lock rings. It added a considerable amount of weight although I don't know how much.
* I cut the foams in half, this seemed to make the tires much more compliant to irregular surfaces, but not too squishy.
* I resoldered the factory battery pack into a 3x3 configuration and placed it in the frame void after cutting the battery tray and reversing the transmission. It's held in the frame with two velcro straps cross-wise.
* widened the track by about 4-6mm by threading nuts onto the shaft between the wheel and 12mm adapter, I still have about half the adapter in the wheeel and haven't had any issues yet.

I've done several other mods but they are all stuff already covered in other threads, and actually, I'd like to say thanks for all your help here on the forum!

I have some parts being shipped for a few more upgrades, it's a bit tough to find people to ship to Army bases over here sometimes.

My lil' truck will climb to almost vertical at heights just over it's own length, pretty impressive if you ask me.

Thanks again for all the info!

I appreciate the kind words.
I scrounge everywhere for possible parts, I get some crazy looks.
The widened track has only helped slightly, I haven't widened it much though.
