| MRC Shocks impulse buy
So I was at the LHS to get just a few things and came across the the mrc aluminum threared shocks. It was the only ones they had so I had to get them. They are so much smoother then the stock ones. The first thing I noticed was they are a little longer then the stock one. There are some 1mm spacers that come with it so you can limit them. |

I made them. I should have them done and ready to sell in the next 1-2 weeks. Maybe sooner.

I have them on backorder since before their release and I'm hoping they'll show up soon :( Do they still just have plastic top ball mounts to snap over the stock balls? |

Yes, the tops are plastic with an AL threaded ring screwed to the top of the shock body. I had my set show up yest, haven't done much other than fill with oil so far. Think I'll wait until I cut the next chassis in fear of breaking one of those tops.

Those look cool, it's a shame about the plastic tops though. I've broken all 4 on my stock shocks.

Nice work for sure. How much will the links cost shipped? And are they going to be the same length as the stockers or longer/shorter? So they can also be used in the front as well? I like the stance of your rig. Looks pissed.LOL CYA

I ordered these online and received them early in the week. They are quality, but it really sucks that the shocks have the plastic top mount. I was hoping the top mounting style would have been changed because, like many others, the top mount on my stock shocks broke in no time. I wish Losi would have had the foresight to include an aluminum top mount and different mounting hardware. At mininum they should have included spares. These things are going to break. I can see it coming. Hopefully they'll sell the plastic pieces separately! I also wasn't aware that these shocks are longer. Now I'm a newbie to the crawler scene, but that makes absolutely no sense to me! The MRC also seems to over-articulate. Am I wrong?! At least they give you limiting shims. What oil do you guys recommend? I'm using a non-droop setup to start. I'll just use all the stock parts that came with the aluminum shocks including the springs. I only have 30wt shock oil here so I'll probably start off trying that. |

Hi Guys, some more info The shocks are the exact same length. The stock plastic shocks have 5mm shock spacers installed from the factory. We build the aluminum shocks with out spacers so that you could decide how many 1mm spacers you want to run in front or rear. The shock cap insert is plastic, but they are from a different material and have been refined. You should not have any issues. We are working on revising the stock mold to help prevent the tops from cracking. Thanks, Rich |

Hopefully the new caps are better as you state. Only time will tell. If they do break will we be able to replace them without buying a whole new set of shocks?
