I bought a mini back when the weather started getting cold. After many
hours, mods, and $$ my MRC performs like my comp Axial! PLANTED"thumbsup"
My 4 year old son has been begging for a crawler of his own since I started taking him to 1:1 and RC events a year ago. After showing Dad a little "restraint" with the throttle finger, and showing some driving skill, He put in his request with "santa"

When you're 4, santa ROCKS!!

Seeing this brings a tear to my eye, super cool to spend time with the young one. I guess I need to save some pennies and get my buddy one too."thumbsup"

My littl nephew is about ready for a nice RC truck. The throttle restraint is still lacking though.

Looks like a ton of fun, glad to see you guys enjoying the trucks so much :D

Thats awesome! I built my son his first back in 04. Lots of cool times. He's 12 now and does most of his own repairs and builds some of his own parts. Great learning experience for the little guys."thumbsup"

Hey where did you get the shocks and bent lower links for your truck at? Also do you know what size those axial links are and where did you get the rod ends for them? thanks a lot, i am new to the crawler scene.

samdog 01-11-2009 05:24 AM

Wish my wife would let me bring rocks in the house "thumbsup"

RockAddict75 01-11-2009 05:39 AM

Thanks fellas for all the positive feedback"thumbsup" Jake's driving ability, for a 4 year old of course, is amazing to me. I can see him actually planning his line while he's crawlin! I tried to get my wife into the hobby but she drives like a MONGO:shock:. She searches out the nastiest holes/crevases/under-cut, and proceeds to wad up her rig, and stuff it in. She loves the 1:1 action though!!

The Axial links are 55mm, the rod ends are traxxas. These links come out about 5mm longer than the stock 3 link. You will have to drill new mounting holes in the stock chassis. Moving my links lower & closer to center helped eliminate some TT.

As for the Hot Racing parts, here is a link to one of my favorite vendors

LOL:-P She made me scrub them w/a brush and run them thru the dishwasher first!! Plus my son's passion for crawlin' helped my cause:ror:

We're on our way to getting another MRC in our house also. As soon as my son saw the truck he took "my" MRC and started driving everywhere. My drive time is limited to when he tells me it's okay to drive.

Rokpile 01-11-2009 09:45 AM

great post, it's the same reason i crawl with my best friend, my son that just turned 5"thumbsup"

That is awesome. i bought my 3 year old and wife one to share. Now I just need to get mine.

KrazyKrawler48 01-11-2009 09:56 AM

hey rock addict, with the bent links in the rear are you hitting on the drive shafts more often because they kinda stick out????

thanks

morg59jeep 01-11-2009 11:43 AM

My 2 yr old son drives the nylint crawler I gave him. He does not know how to steer it yet so he picks it up and points it in the direction he wants it to go. When I go off the driveway into the rocks he sometimes picks mine up off the rocks and points it back onto the driveway. He thinks he is helping me out.

motobrad 01-11-2009 11:45 AM

Love it!!!! I also have a 4 year old. I have been trying to talk the wife in to one for him. I don't get time to drive mine when he is around...:x but i have just as much fun watching him. You guys have just just added to my cause to support getting him one!!!!!! Thanks:lol:

motobrad 01-11-2009 11:49 AM

On the rod ends, I can't find the angled ones you are using on the chassis. are those the axial ones? Anyone have part # for the rod ends. i found axial rods on ebay, but can't find the bent rod ends there. (unless i buy a complete Axial upgrade kit.) Sorry new guy here.

With the extra length of the rear upper links, I was able to clock the rear axle. The drive angle is actually up above the bend in the links"thumbsup"

thanks

Yes 3 milli set screws on the Axial links & rod ends. The look in your little one's eyes when he sees the MRC box is worth every penny!
