Default brand new here

Hello everyone, this is my first post and it's about time that I did this. I've been looking at this forum for about 3 months now and I've been kind of cautious as to when I should start. I decided to do it because I really want to be around people that understand my hobby and I also want to learn from the best people around. Anyway, I have a crawler now, a losi mini rock crawler, and I've done the normal mods so far to it:

flipped tranny
got rid of the plastic battery/electroincs tray
moved shocks to the actual chassis
slammed body down
adjusted the preload spacers
lowered electronics
deans connectors
lower steering link is now titanium
common sense 7.4 2s 800 mah lipo

Eventaully, I want to weigh the rims down, or just get some aluminum rims. Maybe get a mini GC2 chassis (the performance that I've seen is amazing) blue compound tires, 4 link, and a lot more. Before I post a pic I want to test it out before I screw it up. By the way my actual name is Sean so you guys can call me by that if you want. Thanks

ya thats what I've heard, and thanks. I'm not really that new to forums (I'm also on the RCDriver forums) and yet I've never really been brave enough to post pics that much.

I just tried to get my esc on my lower plates I made in the front. Even sideways I had rubbing during flex. You must have some binding/rubbing issues with that LIpo up there and so close to the shock body, dont you??

Its looking good bro not trying to bash you just wondering.

ya, I do have a little amount rubbing, and it's not because of the size of the battery. Since I don't have any spare lexan or anythig, I found what I had (zipties) and mounted the battery to the side of the three link connector. If I had some lexan, I could mount it and there'd be no rub whatsoever by the battery. The battery is actually 27mm wide.

Go to the store buy a gallon of simply orange juice(clear bottle, green lid) drink or transfer juice to another container the lables come off cleanly and tada 2 good sized and good gauge pieces of cheap and nutrious lexan.

sounds like your on the right track. i just ordered the mini gc2. that chassis is going to be the best thing to happen to minis for a while then your 4 link quest is over aswell. post up some pics. most people are helpful here as long as you can take a little ribbing. as for aluminum wheels i would sugest the vanquish product lh 1.9 procomp. by far the nicest wheels in rc and for comps theres nothing better. theres a link in my sig for there website check them out.

yah I was going to get the mini gc2 too, but because of lack of funds, I'm going to have to wait a bit. I also like the idea of that four link because it gets rid of the annoying torque twist. That's the thing that hinders the performance of my crawler the most. oh, and thanks toyw/me for the tip, i think I'll try that some time.
