MRC with cheap and free mods Here's my MRC modded with cheap and free mods: flipped transmission ESC moved to rear axle lexan plate on rear a-arm, receiver moved here battery/electronics tray removed upper shock mounts in holes from removed tray added additional limiter to rear shocks added inner springs cut from ball point pen to front shocks lexan battery tray, battery velcro mounted stock wheels converted to beadlocks lead weight in front and rear wheels servo saver spring removed a couple washer added to servo mount screws (screw heads pulling through ears on servo) body lowered about 5/8 inch I tried some blue compound bashers briefly, and they don't work as well on the stuff I tend to play on. They seem better suited to actual rocks ;-) I ruined two of the stock tires when boiling them to break the glue loose from the rims. So I just got a couple new stock tires and I'm running the stockers for now, stock foam too. Still need to get bent links on the rear, maybe build myself a four link setup too. With that Roland in the background we better see some nice vinyl on that stock body. I used to run a Camm-1 a long time ago. |

I bought that thing several years ago so I could do numbers and graphics for my full scale race car. Doing odd jobs with it here and there it's paid for itself so I just keep it around to use when needed. Not to get to far off the topic of the thread but I used to use something called Sign Lab it really really sucked but I could import objects from Adobe illustrator. So you could make really technical stuff beyond the capacity of the roland software. That being said you could make a templete in illustrator of the body panels for the stock body (or any body for that matter) and cut them on the roland in different colors and let the layer behind it show through. Better yet I currently print on a very wide range of matterials (vinyl, metal, lexan, paper products, PVC, wood, ect...) The only thing I don't do is routing and vinyl cutting. You could cut the body panels and mail them to me rolled on the sheet (I'm in richmond va) and I could print designs on the panels. Just a though might be more work than it is worth but could be fun. PM me if you want to do some tests, I can even make the vector paths for your plotter if you need. To get back on topic now: Your build is looking pretty good. I love things when they are cheap, now that you put down the coin for the blue compounds you really don't need to spend any money on the ride now. (at least that is what I tell my wife) |
What did you gain / what was the advantage to flipping the transmission ?? |
Are your tires mounted backwards or are mine? Not really sure if it would make a noticeable difference but curious! |
