Default MRC esc's???

What ESC's are you guys running? Anyone try the Mamba 25 with these small brushed motors? Just wondering if it will work good with a smaller motor...

I'm running the Mamba 25 with a Hyperion outrunner brushless. Really easy to program with castle link. Ran in for about a week with the stock motor it does take some testing and tuning to get set up with a brushed motor. Biggest advantage over the stock esc is a lipo cut off. Check out my thread has the model number of the motor there.

I am running a Mamba 25 with a mini HH Tourqe Master and a TP 2c 1320 lipo. ESC was very easy to set up with the Castle Link and as dezslash mentioned it has the built in lipo cut off. Havent had any problems

I have used the Mamba in other rigs (all brushless) and Kris tried it with a 55t motor and hated it... No drag brake at all. I was hoping it worked good with the smaller motors the MRC uses. How is that drag brake with the HH mini torque monster?? This is the combo I may be using.....

I'm using a Tekin B1R.

The Tekin FXr and B1R are tiny and best of all...their drag brake is awesome.

I run the Tekin FXR in mine and love it. The drag brake works!

If I was to go brushless I would go with the Tekin RS and the Novak 18.5 380 when it comes out.

Tekin FXR here as well. HH Mini torque master and 3s. Easy to setup, killer drag brake, and hella wheel speed.

This may be a problem with all Castle ESC's - weak drag brake. I have the regular Sidewinder in my MRC with stock motor and the drag brake is very weak (it's adjusted to 100% in the settings). It slows it down on an incline but it's nowhere near the full drag brake of the stock ESC.
I'm thinking of buying a Tekin just for this reason - I hate not having the drag brake.

Strange, I have been running a Castle Mamba Max in my 2.2 and a Mamba Micro pro in my 1.9 and both have great drag brake. They creep down inclines. I did however get a chance to see Novak's 1.9 brushless system at a comp this weekend and it looked and preformed very well.

Yeah, I am waiting to see some reviews on the Novak too... I liked the power of the OG crawler brushless system in my rock racer but the drag brake BLEW! I would have never used it in a comp rig.

no problem with the drag brake on my set up. I actually have the drag set at 80% and that works for me.

X2 - Mine is on order but I did a lot of research. That and I love my Max in my 2.2. Brand loyalty I guess. I just love the drag bg=rakes on the Max. This new (for me)mini combo with a 645/BES and a 1320 mah 2s should prove to be a damn good setup.

I'm using a mamba micro pro, HH, and thunder power 1320 2s lipo pack. My drag break is set at 80%, and it works fantastic.

The dragbreak did seem a little weak with the stock motor. But using the link I adjusted it up to 90% and boom the performance was just as good as stock.

I'm really happy with my set up.

mamba25 w/ stock brushed motor. I have the drag brake set at 100% and it doesn't seem as strong as the stock esc.
