| This is my second MRC and since the first one was a comp rig this one will be a scaler. I want to keep this build pretty simple but still want it to work well and appear relatively scale. To start I picked up some goodies including:
![]() I'm super excited about the spacer kit from Fast Eddie's, it has 10 each of six different sizes ![]() The spacers are nicely machined, this kit will come in handy on many different builds in the future! ![]() I quickly mocked up the chassis and shocks, I think they should work out alright ![]() With body cut on stock lines: |

| Looking forward to watching this build. I was thinking about getting a Axialscaler, but with one MRC in the house, I might as well just buy another MRC and a L-Trail frame. Then my 4 year old son will have his own to drive and I might get to drive my soon to be built mini gatekeeper. Keep posting the progress on the build! |

| I can't wait to see your Sami finished up. That FastEddy master builder's spacer kit is sooo sweet and has a great price. |

| Mad4rnr, After looking at your build earlier today I had a few questions come to mind: What is the maximum wheelbase that the L-trail can be built to? Why are you going with the late model shocks instead of the MRC aluminum shocks? What length and how many spacers/crossmembers are you using between the frame rails? (I figured 71mm with the 6mm per side that TCS suggests) What material are you going to use for the crossmembers? Sorry for all of the questions. |

![]() I will try though: 1) not sure on the max wheelbase, looks like the chassis is setup perfectly for the stock 8.5 wheelbase as the minimum (should be good for up to 10" maybe Harley can tell you more) 2) for the chassis width I've been playing with keeping it at the stock 60mm width that way I can run the Losi late model shocks on the outside of the chassis, need to make new upper and lower links to make this happen though 3) the reason I went with the shocks is that they are short for a lower stance more suited to the sami 4) In general for crossmembers I always build with Delrin, usually 3/8" for skids and 1/4" else where, here though I will use the 1/4" all around and alos throw in some Axial 60mm links to stiffen the shock towers | |

| Thanks! I just want to get all of the info on building up a L-trail before I get all fired up before hand and then have reality smack me up side the head. |

| from, Genki: http://www.genkidoridori.com/index.p...roducts_id=833 Have some updates for you, so I decided to switch things up with the front suspension when I found out that the X-trail proto springs fit perfect on the L-trail chasis. Here is the a pick of the package I found in my RC Crawler stash: ![]() I thought these springs made the X-trail sit a bit low for the but love how they work on the MRC. I didn't even have to drill any holes to fit them up. I ![]() ![]() I made some little spring blocks from delrin. In this pic only one screw is there but I will end up using both the upper and lower screws to hold the block to the axle. I still have to incorperate the shock mounting as well ![]() I also mad fabbed a new skid plate and kept the chassis at the stock 60mm width. I need to start on the rear four link tomarrow |
