| SVEN's Mini GC2
Not much of a build thread, because I built it Saturday during the Alabama Little Rock City competition (Thanks Austin!!). Not sure what place I came in, but I know I finished all the courses. Parts of the course I had tried to climb 2 weeks ago with a tuned stock chassis and could not even start the climbs. This time around, with out any practice on the setup, the truck went right up no problem. The goods: Gatekeeper Designs Mini GC2 chassis MaxAmps 860mah Lipo Holmes Hobbies TorqueMaster Mini DNA 1.9 Assassins Losi 1.9 Claws (blue compound) Losi CVD's (front only) 3 Racing MLST shocks Tekin FX-R Hitec 7955 servo Nomadio React From The Crawler Store: Aluminum Knuckles Aluminum Axle C's Front and Rear Diff lockers The body is held on with velcro straps because I can't stand side posts and needed something easy. Top mounted body posts will be made when I get a chance. I set the truck up with the stock shocks as that was what I had with me at the comp. I will update the pics when I get the 3 Racing shocks mounted up. To use the stock shocks, I used the hardware provided with the GC2 and a slice of fuel tubing between the shock and the chassis. The TorqueMaster Mini has excellent low speed throttle control on the 7.4V 860mah MaxAmps lipo. The motor is faster than stock, but not as fast as a Mini Slider motor with the same stock gearing. The lipo fits nicely on the Front top links. The FX-R is cradled in between the Rear top links. Last edited by SVEN; 02-10-2009 at 06:33 PM. |

Thanks for letting me help with it, I have really enjoyed it. 7.345 inches - measured from outside of tires. Last edited by SVEN; 02-09-2009 at 06:47 PM.

Hey nice rig, I was wondering can you run that motor with stock battery, if not what battery do I need? Thanks Zach |

Thanks Harley. Yes, you NEED one of these. They are the best 'couch crawlers' around . You know, for those rainy days. Oh and comps too.

Made some new upper links out of some turnbuckles I had laying around. I just re-drilled the mounting holes to accept the 4-40 hardware. The chassis was designed so that you could use the stock links and still have the rear axle clocked up a little. I wanted just a tiny bit more, so the rears are barely longer than the fronts. I couldn't find a good way to mount the MLST shocks, so I stripped the Mini-T. I put the stock shock rod ends and spring cups on the Mini-T shock shafts. The springs are just the softest ones I could round up. |

Just wanted to know what direction you plan on going to fight the torque twist? oil? springs? preload spacers? I have the threaded aluminum shocks with 40wt in three and 50wt in the right rear and a stiffer spring to fight it, yet it is still is a problem.

| The link geometry takes care of most of it with this chassis |
