Default Rufus + mini GC2 chassis

First I'd like to thank all my sponors.....ME
I've had a 2.2 GC2 since they came out and when I saw Gatekeeper was coming out with a chassis for the Losi mini I had to have one.I can't say enough about the quality of this kit,it comes with everything you need to swap from your stock chassis.

Here's a shot comparing the mini GC2 to the stocker.

He did that last comp, he's got just as much of a shot this time though, running this chassis

This little guy had it's first comp today and all I can say is.The tiny size of it let it slide right through spots the stockers would get hung up in.We had some light snow and rain that made the courses extremely slippery ,yet the mini GC2 was still climbing like a goat. Thanks again Austin for a killer chassis kit that performs top notch

Definatly...hope my son doesn't notice that I stole it out of his RC 18 MT.
After the big rush to get this going before the comp it's time to realy unlock the potential this chassis has.I made a list of things to change.....shocks,smaller Lipo, change my weight bias a little more towards the front, motor swap......change NOTHING about the chassis. This is THE platform to build a comp mini crawler on.

My son wasn't thrilled with me stealing his motor so I ordered a twin pack of Losi Insane's for Rufus today. Also picked up some Losi aluminum shocks cause I broke 2 of my plastic stockers. It's nice to take the time to redo some of the things I did in a hurry to get it ready for the comp.It was good to see the other guys in the clubs set ups and "borrow" some of there ideas. Cracker needs to hook me up with his slick body mounts...hint,hint....

I decided to try a new body,I think it fits on the GC2 pretty good but may need some more trimming.

What's torque twist? It very rarely comes off the ground and "if" it dose, little blip of the throtle and she settles right down.

I got a chance to do some crawling this afternoon and trimmed the body some more.It seems to rollover as good if not better than my Grappler body did.

I picked up some metal lockers for the mini GC2 yesterday and got them installed today.I was happy to find only a small amount of wear on the stock plastic ones. The main reason I wanted to change them out was for the weight, but the peice of mind that they won't break is a bonus.

I wish the bearing bosses where made of metal. The fact that they where plastic blew me away the first time I took apart the axles.Having the right screwdriver for the job made taking the small screws out no problem.
