Default Another MRC owner!

Well, after much looking at the MRC and the 10th scale rigs, I found a month old MRC for cheap close by. I could resist and figured it would be a good way to find out whether I like crawling or not, for cheap! Well, to say the least this sucks!!!!!!!!I'm already making a mod list!! So much for cheap!

I'm going to add weight to the front wheels, adjustable shocks, 30 degree links, move the batt and electronics, and then we'll see about tires and foams. Not sure what is there now.

It's painfully obvious that this is going to be a lot of fun, and I'll need something bigger, just to climb stairs! So, it appears I've been bitten by the bug!

Good to be here, and see ya' later!

Same thing happened to me. I bought an MRC cause I've been stuck at home for a while and was getting bored. Just needed something to tinker with. Now I'm hooked!

Bought one last week

So far I've put a 645mg up front, rearranged the stock pack and put it on the front upper link, moved the esc and rx to the rear axle, glued some flat irons with memory foams on the stock wheels:-(, xmod springs inside shocks on the shafts to limit droop, moved upper shock mount to the battery tray holes.

still want to put weights in the tires.

Well, I just ordered bent links, threaded aluminum shocks, and a battery/servo plate. Don't know if the stock batt will mount there or not. I'm looking for a pyramid shaped one. Can't find one right now.

I was thinking of moving the ESC and receiver to the y links too. I'll do some checking this week and tire shops and see if I can get the stick on weights.

WOOT!

Default Yeah, me too

I did the same thing except I could'nt find a used one so I bought new with no plans to modify. To date I added:
-front metal locker
-losi blue bashers
-axial 1.9 8 hole beadlocks
-2s 800mah lipo

And.....I just came home with this:
Click the image to open in full size.
Mamba micro max, memory foams, rear metal locker, grappler body w/paints, 1 piece rear, spindles and c hubs in aluminum gun metal grey

I planned on getting a 2.2 but I will be staying 1.9 for a while.

MMMMMMMMMMMM, RC porn!!!!!!!! Gotta love it! I've got the plastic lockers now. I think I'll order the metals ones too.

I think I'd like to lengthen the chassis a little. Anyone tell me what the legal length is off the top of their head? Wish I could add ground clearance as well. The center skid gets hung up pretty easily.

Default I got bit too

I got an MRC about 2 weeks ago, 3 words Oh My God..... I had it out of the box for about 4 hrs and started to mod it.

aluminum plates on the upper links for the ESC (front) and the Rx (Rear).
Put the bat on top if the servo
got some basher tires with some memory foam
front and center aluminum lockers
limited the shocks
25wt oil
center aluminum skid plate

Ran it today for the first time with the basher tire, WAY better than stock, Will lower the body tomorrow.

Looking forward to maybe getting the Losi 2.2, if it ever gets here.:-(

While changing the center locker I put an alan wrench though my finger DON'T ASK. If any one is curious, I have pics. It was an Integy (i think). The hospital broke 2 cutters tring to cut it, small hand cutters and then Syrgical bolt cutters.

OUCH!! I do NOT need to see pics of that!

With this being my first crawler, I've got to learn how and where to put everything.

Now, after doing even more reading, I'm thinking GC2 chassis to boot!

Seems like alot of the guys are getting the basher tires. Are they better than the blue rock claws? I ruined one tonite getting it off the rim to add weight. Torqued me off, so I may go with a real bead lock wheel too.

Didn't I say the word "cheap" somewhere? Nah, must be dreaming!
