I flipped mine because everyone said it helps. I cannot tell you if it helps or hurts as I never ran the rig before I flipped it.

I flipped mine because it made room to put my lipo on top of the front links. That's all.

My main reason was to make room in the front also, but it does help with the troque twist also, I would do it again on another one and will probably do it to my AX-10 also.

Dumb noob question here. Do you have to rewire the motor or something after flipping the motor/trans? I'd think it would turn backwards then. Yes/no? It looks like by flipping it puts the driveshafts more in line too. Thanks!

If you're using the Losi radio that came with the truck you just have to flip that tiny switch on top of the radio to reverse the motor.

or just swap wire positions on the motor.

flipping the tranny will help torque twist and also put the weight of the motor towards the front

How does flipping the tranny help minimize torque twist? I can't think of any reason practical reason that it would have that effect...

It should help, it's a matter of how bad it twists.

From my experience turning the trans around just gives more space for mounting electrics as stated earlier.

When it comes to torque twist the only difference made is which tire lifts before you flip lol.

You can swap wires, or just reverse the throttle. Some say it hurts the motor and it will burn up. I've seen a few people run the motor in reverse for some time with not problem. Some have complained that their motor has fried. I'm not sure on that one you be the judge.

You can reverse the wires or the switch but, both are hard on the motor as is is set with positive timing from the manufacturer. I reccomend the Holmes Hobbies Torque Master Mini. This is set to zero timing so you can run either way without burning up the motor. It has more torque than stock and better wheel speed.

^ The motor was not designed to be constantly run in reverse. It is not recommended to flip transmission while keeping the stock motor.

I think the slider motor has the same problem but Im not 100% sure. I have the tranny in the stock location and the slider is def. faster going forward than reverse if that has anything to do with it.

I think the mini slider motor may have adjustable timing, (didn't mess with mine, just bolted it up) but in the end it's only a 13 dollar motor. Run it backwards. It might burn up a little faster, but it's unlikely to be an issue with a crawler. We don't run wide open enough to cause any serious problems.

The stock motor is more likely to burn up or throw a brush than the slider motor because it doesn't have a real brush hood-it's just a cheap silver can. the slider motor has real brush hoods and replaceable parts. It's a serious bargain to be honest.

That is an excellent point. If you don't mind running the risk of burnng up your motor because you are probably going to upgrade it down the line anyway then go for It!
