Attachment 92280 So after trying to squeeze non-existant articulation out of my mini slingshot I went a different direction and am now quite pleased. My new setup is rocking the rcbros Skulz V2 chassis, Tekin FXR speed control, 800 mah 2 cell Lipo, full size servo Cirrus (165 ounce) and some new G8 compound Flat Irons. So far this combo has shown great improvement and I'm crawling lines I never could before. ![]() Loving this chassis, looks good and it's thicker than the stock plates. The holes are drilled a little bigger than stock for the shock mounts so if you have upgraded to some stronger hardware they will fit great. This chassis allows stock height shocks to maintain great articulation but lower the ride ever so slightly to maximize legal wheelbase limits at 8.5 and provide a lower COG. ![]() What can I say about the Tekin FXR, it rocks, smooth power, weights nothing and will power a full size servo with ease. Love it and will never go back. ![]() 2 cell 800 mah Lipo runs long time and fits well, I attached stiff clear plastic to the underside of the Lipo to prevent any damage or stress on the battery. Attachment 92286 New 1.9 Flat Irons with G8 compound. These things are off the hook. The G8 compound is so soft and sticky, much softer that M3 in my opinion. They seem to be holding up, don't know if I believe they will wear better than M2 rubber... only time will tell. These tires are mean and have serious bite, the stock foam will probably be to soft for a scaler, but for the MRC they are just perfect, the treads flex perfect and the tire bites well due to the spacing of the tread. They also look great. They are however a little to big for an ideal stock setup so to compensate for the increased diameter I installed some new aluminum wide hex's that push out and widen the track just the perfect amount to accomidate for the wheels height. The rig does not feel tipsy but did a little with the stock hexs on. I suggest this upgrade to anyone looking to widen the track a little without wanting to mess with axle extenders. I put the stock hex in the pic below so folks can see the size difference. These tires rock and the G8 compound is very impressive. Good job Proline.

Looks killer! Love the paint combo. Going bright orange with my next body. Keeping things simply yet effective works with this chassis that's why we love it. Last edited by RcBro; 02-17-2009 at 11:28 PM.

I think it's once of the coolest looking chassis. I'm shocked to hear that you hated your Slingshot when everbody else raves about theirs.

I in no way hate the slingshot. DNA is a solid company and I respect them greatly. There are so many great things about that DNA package. The articulation options are just not what I am currently looking for in a setup. I am however still using the DNA axle plates because I think they are also great. I'm sure you didn't mean to put "hate" in the post I just wanted to clarify because for many people the slingshot works and they are happy with it. I believe the slingshot is quality just not the type of design I want on my crawler because i believe it was designed to produce minimized articulation. For my ideal setup RcBros hit the nail on the head, and it was only $19.

No worries man, I knew it was an accident, just wanted to clarify because I think those guys at DNA deserve all of our respect for doing what they do. Anyways I think it was a combination of both, especially the 4 link design with the length of the links and the way the overall system moved together. I sure blew some cash trying out all the different shock options suggested by folks hA:-Pha ha. Anyways the RcBros Skulz chassis is working great and I'll stick with that.
