Default Reedy stump puller

I just put this and gave it a test run on the recliner and noticed it was pretty damn loud. Is this the normal? I'm going to pull it off tomorrow and redo the gear mesh. I have the mamba micro pro and a lipo it that helps. Thank you.

BTW: alot more balls and creeps up nice and slow and seems to have much more wheel speed.

Mine is very loud too. I've messed with the mesh a few times with no result, so I just quit worrying about it.

I installed a stump puller in my MRC a bit ago and the rig was noticeably louder. I too played with the gear mesh without success. I did gear down to a 12t pinion. After playing with the mesh I gave up and just ran it. No problems, just loud :?

On a good note it has a ton more power and wheel speed

mine is also loud im at a 12t pinion and i think that is loud because it is a high rpm motor geared way down.

the stump puller has 100 times more wheel speed than the holmes motor so the noise dosent bother me

Doing about 400mph with your crawler?

I have another version of the TM mini on the way that will be about as fast as the stump puller. It seems way to fast for me, but some guys like the extra ridiculous 400mph speed.

Thats it, I want to a stump puller.
Apparantly, it will crawl better,
has more top speed (400mph is nutz)
and to top it all off, it can pull stumps. (it says so in the name...)

I think I'll get two, that way I can go 800

Default stump puller

mine is in and also crazy loud. messed with the meshing a little bit and it quieted down. Had to shim back the motor on my MRC to make it fit, but I am very happy so far. Need to switch to a smaller pinion from stock 14t what spur gear are any of you running?

Thanks John

Stump puller = Stupid loud and fast. The first time I hit the trigger in my MRC I thought I had stripped ever gear in the losi drivetrain. LOL!

P.S. - Be careful with the solder tabs, they break very easily. However if you do break them, you can solder anywhere around the tabs and still be fine.

I love my Stump Puller. She does great with a Tekin FXR.

With the stock pinion it was indeed "stupid" fast. I ordered an Integy variety pack of the appropriate pinions and put in a 12t, which helped to slow her down just right. I am quite happy with the setup. The speed is there if I want it.
I won't be quick to call it stupid loud, as I don't remember having that impression and I'm one who prefers quiet over noisy. FWIW though, one reason I chose a bodiless chassis is because I prefer the sound of an "open" motor/ESC, not under/within a lexan body (I really can't explain it any other way.

I had no issues at any point in the installation.

IVe got the losi insane in mine, and it is louder as well i think. But it has AWESOME wheelspeed and low end tourqe. Had to get used to how i pegged the trigger sometimes, but its amazing.
