I'm running the Losi aluminum threaded shocks in a semi-droop config. Soft inner springs with the losi springs outside. works pretty nice, decent quality, though they do tend to leak if you don't tighten them properly. All aluminum construction would make them bomb proof.

I'm running the mlst shocks and I believe it's only like 25bucks for a set of 4 @ 3racing. Also using 90 weight oil.

I first upgraded to late model shocks from stock.
The travel was too short.

So then I swapped out the stock shafts into the late models.
The shock was tall enough but still had little travel.

The bad thing about both these shocks is the shaft diameter is way too small and bends easy.

I swapped in the Mini LSTs from 3racing.
A big 3mm shaft and easy to oil. Cycles smoothly.
The bad thing is the spring selection. The stack black springs are stiff and the soft white springs are longer. Need to find a good spring for them.

The HRs are nice but I don't like the tiny body, not much room for oil. I bet they have a nice spring selection though.

I am running the RCBros shocks and have been real happy with the performance. Took a little tweaking to get them right but what doesn't in this sport. Running them internally sprung with springs from another rc that "seemed right", 30wt except for LR at 45wt. Replaced the stock shock ends with Losi lower link ends to go back to the 2.5mm ball pivot. Mounted outside the chassis with the supplied standoffs ground down to the taper.

I've been thinking about trying to make some Associated RC18 shocks work.

Thinking RC18T rears might be the right length. According to online lengths they are 4 mm shorter than the MLST ones from HR.

You'd have to get creative with the end since they use a ball cup though.

so don't take this the wrong way, im not being a dick just genuinely curious... are there no rules on this forum about self promotion? im used to forums having a single area were people usually peddle their wares, or posters having to do business offline (PMs or emails etc).

not that i care really, i like hearing about new products from guys like you right here on the forum. like i said just curious.

dude get over it, i like it when the vendor puts his 2 cents in...it always helps with the thread, he is just throwing options at us. I find it very helpful. Thank you mr. vendor man! Keep up all the good work and keeping us informed on what will make these guys run better. what what!:-P

Yes there's a vendors section, but I'm also a hobbyist. I've been on this forum since 2005 and just became a vendor on this site about 2 months ago. He asked what others are using and I posted that I'm using our shocks because I have a MRC too and use it all the time. There are alot of items I don't sell, and you'll find that I post about stuff I'm not selling as well.

Will it make it better if I post my own personal rig??

Hey look, here's the shocks I run. For setup I run no spring, stock pistons with 50wt oil. If you bleed them just right there is plenty of preload to prevent a full droop setup which is how I run them.

i'll just forgo the well written retort and quote myself to you, "i like hearing about new products from guys like you right here on the forum. like i said just curious.". it just 3 posts up if you'd like to read the whole thing ;)
