This chassis is so cool. I'm not sure if I'm crazy about the one piece idea, though. But other than that it's awesome. I just wish it was more competitively priced - say something along the lines of the Slingshot or the Mini GC-2!

I would say it is as good or better price. It includes upgraded links made from TI too.

$115 seems decent to me.

The other chassis kits range from $75-$85. The extra $30 for "upgraded" Ti links is probably a reasonable price, but the other chassis kits come with "upgraded" links as well.

Don't get me wrong, I love this chassis and will probably bite the bullet and purchase it or the Mini GC-2 (if they are ever available again...), but if the DarkSould chassis would be closer to $85 it would be a no brainer. I personally don't think the links need to be titanium.

If you have ever run the TI links on a crawler you will change your mind. It is a fairly noticabe difference, even with the short run time I was able to put on the rig before the motor smoked you could tell. A budget chassis option is nice but having a better options for a little higher price is even better. I don't like sacrificing quality just to save $30.

The price tag won't be for everyone but it is a complete package and for the price is pretty killer considering the links and 4 link plates.

Default Just got mine today!

I just got mine today. I started building it tonight, should finish tomorrow if my order from TCS is in the Saturday mail. Overall I think it's a real nice kit, and a well thought out chassis. DS spent some time putting together a nice set of instructions which really helped me figure out how to get the motor / tranny into the thing! The other nice touch is including the shock mounting spacers to mount the shocks farther out on the axle.
My only nitpick, and it's minor, is to have the front servo plate predrilled for a full size servo. Most people buying the chassis aren't going to be running the stock servo. But drilling a couple holes isn't a big deal...
I should add that Ted was great to deal with regarding my paypal snafu. He was quick to respond to questions, and got it shipped quickly once the paypal thing was sorted out.

I can't wait to get it running and out crawling on some rocks, it's gonna be sweet!

Does anybody have photos of these shock mounting spacers? I'd like to see them.

Harley, I just noticed you used all HR stuff. Why?!

My understanding is that they slide really well on the rocks, plus they're really strong and light.

Didn't miss them, I just got swamped with helping put on the Midwest 2.2 Challenge and now getting read for ECC. The rig needs some tuning and I have been doing that instead of posting up. Hopefully I get it dialed before I have to leave Friday morning

Easy video idea for Harley, "All the crawlers I said I was building and what ever happened to them" .

I think I competed with this one for a short time before the Gatekeeper chassis came out from Duratrax and I switched. I don't really remember, I never could love the MRC.
