custom base shield

One of the kids must have picked up the Crawler
and grabbed it by the Univeral Joint/Slider Shaft on the
drive train because it broke off. Or did it break off on it's own?
Is this fairly common? (Losi RTR MRC)

I seen a pic here once where somebody made a custom
base sheild. It looked like it was made out of plastic of similar
properties as a the plastic from a gallon water jug.

Anybody got pics of any base shields or are there any on the
market already that I can buy?

Base shield? And your shaft isn't broken, it just popped out of the female side of the shaft. Gotta remember these are telescoping driveshafts so they slide long to short and so. So all you got to do is pop off the shocks and put the 2 shafts back together, and then put the shocks back on, it's perty self explanatory. That should solve your problems. And I don't know what you talking about 'base shields' so can't help you there.

Yeah, after about 20 minutes looking through the grass, I found the other half. I stuck it in my pocket but I still lost it again.

Is this not uncommon to come apart?

As for the base shield, somebody had fabricated a piece of plastic that had wrapped around the sides and base of the crawler. That would help me protect the moving parts from the kids.
