Default Stormer hobbies tekin b1 and b1r

hey fellas, about to buy the tekin b1, or b1r (cant afford the fxr), the cheapest I have found is stormerhobbies.com. They have the b1 for 69.00 and the b1r for 79.00.

Has anyone dealt with them, are they realiable.

Is that a good price, if not, where can I get one cheaper.

Stormer is awesome, but you don't want the B1 unless you don't plan on going in reverse.

Get the B1R, and if you don't have a Hotwire, find someone that does because you'll need a software update for 100% reverse. Otherwise you get only about 50%.

Uh, it's not a reverse model, hence the R in B1R.

The B1r is a great little esc, I'm running it with my Holmes Mini Torque Master on 2s LiPo.
It's the same price from HolmesHobbies http://holmeshobbies.com/product.php...1&cat=2&page=1 as it isfrom Stormer and John is a sponser here so it's nice to support those vendors who support this board.
Also when I ordered mine I asked John to update it to the newest firmware before he shipped it, now I have full power reverse.

I wasn't planning on going the brushed motor route on my soon-to-be MRC, but after all this good feedback, I am leaning towards the B1R and the Holmes Mini Torque Master motor. Bright side is that this set up is cheaper than my original plan. Quick question though, will the B1R need an external BEC to run a 1/10 scale size servo at 6.0 volts?

I agree 100%!!! If your not going to support your local hobby shop, then you should obviously support the forum sponsors. Without them, we wouldn't be able to play on the website, or have the options of running so many different setups!!!

I have been running the B1-R with the mini torquemaster for a few months now and it great.
I am running a cc bec with a full size servo. Internal bec couldnt hang with a 200oz servo .

Not trying to bust any bubbles, I owned a B1R I loved the product but did have a couple of issues. First I had a issue with bad glinching after increasing reverse strength. Sent it to Tekin w/ a recent receipt for repairs. The guys rewrote the ESC's software. Volume 29. They told me I was one of like 5 guys to have this. Had no problems for almost a month then lost forward:-(. Sent it back and I upgraded to the FXR. My setup was a mini slider, 645mg w/ 6.0v cc bec. and stock rx tx. All this happened being of the year. hats off to the guys at Tekin BEST CUST SERVICE
