Default **Homer's PR Concepts EVO Build**

I watched Pup's rig down at Green River a few weeks ago, and I was sold... Here is my BADASS 1.9 Evolution Chassis Build:

First off, please ignore how awful my 'light box' looks. Evidently I'm like a bull in a china closet when it comes to applying tissue paper to cardboard.. Oh well, it gets the job done though

Here is what is included when you get your chassis:

Now on to the build..

First I put the extra Losi MRC rod ends I ordered onto the new upper links:

After that, I installed the new shock spacers as seen here:

For mounting the front and rear 4 link plates, I evidently got carried away and did not take a pic of putting them together. :-( But, here's a couple of tips. Put your uppers on the plates before you mount them to the axle, as you won't be able to use your little Axial 4 way that makes it much easier to install if you put the links on afterwards. For mine, I took a drill and opened up the holes on each plate as I didn't want to have to thread the bolts through, I like a slip fit better. You only have to clearance just a very small amount, but just enough to make a difference. Here's how it is looking after the 4 link plates are installed:

Now, currently, you have to shorten your bolts for your lowers by 2-3mm each at the skid plate. This is not going to be an issue in the future though I didn't take pics of installing the trans to the skid, or the TVP's to the skid, as we all know how that goes. But, here is the pic after that with the shocks installed:

Finally, how could I leave out the mandatory shot:

I haven't gotten a chance to get the electronics on it yet, or a body. My new MRC Grappler body came in today, and I'm shipping it off to Bradley tomorrow to shoot me some paint :-P As far as fit, finish, and function... I am really excited to get this rig on the rocks, it feels so much smoother than anything I've tried thus far, as well as it is light and skinny as hell This ladies and gents is going to be a contender!! Now, just if I can get my driving skills on par with the performance I'll be a rockstar Yes.. I know you can see my cardboard box in the last pic... and I also know I have a bunch of holes in my tires... like I said.. Bull in a china closet with glue and/or tape...

Wow this looks great! I was wondering how the plates would look with screws countersunk... much cleaner.

Thanks! It really is a straight forward nice kit to work with. I've tried a few other kits out there for the MRC, one of which I literally pitched before I finished the build. This is the 100% exact opposite of that. I've also ran a DMG Tuber which are pretty damn awesome, but I really wanted more of a comp setup this go-around. I think Pup and Redbaron have nailed it. And nope, I'm not sponsored or receiving any benefits from my comments, I just really think this chassis is gonna be the sh!t!!!!!

you still have a little brown on your nose build looks good

But seriously, they did a great job on that chassis and is a very top contender..I remember when those 2 didnt even want to mess with the 1.9's. Now they can't stop driving them..

But congrats once again on Pup and his 4th place at ECC with no testing time and Tim for some killer machine work

Build looks good Adam. I have seen Scot and Tim's trucks perform. I think this is the route I will go with my mini.

Thanks Nalley! Unfortunately I'm not going to be able to get it running tonight, it'll have to be tomorrow night :-( All I have left to do is transfer the electronics from my old setup to this chassis and it'll run, but I am going to do that tomorrow afternoon, then test it tomorrow evening

I'd love to see a top or bottom assembled chassis view! From the looks of it from the side, it doesn't really seem like the links are triangulated enough to stop the front / rear ends from walking back and forth. But then again, could just be the camera angle or my weird eyes.

Thanks!!

Here a picture from my build:

There is no side to side movement of the axles other than a little slop in my rod ends which have been used and abused!!

BTW - build looks good Homer!!

I'll try to get a pic for you tonight when I get home, not sure if I'll have time though, I'll be leaving for a concert in Cincinnati as soon as I get home pretty much. If not tonight, I'll definitely have it tomorrow

Nice build thread, I never have the patience to do this and it's nice to see it done. I really like how this chassis has turned out. Good job on the build and good job to the designers! Quick question whats the width of the chassis, outside to outside?

The skid is 1.250 and the chassis plates are .090 for a total width of 1.43".
