I was very happy with mine when it was stock, I was pretty impressed. Nothing has broken or failed, so far. Then I got bit by the upgrade bug ...

If you look on forums for just about anything most of the time you will hear from people with problems, not many people are gonna post to say that everythings fine.

Nothing broke on mine in its stock configuration. Upgrades made it more solid, better traction and made the center of gravity better.

Anything can be broken, just a matter of time and condition.

Peace

as Fej said its the upgrade bug.....

anyway, i havent had any problem with mine. everything works well even the electronics. i think upgrading or mod is the hobby itself. personally, i wouldnt be in this hobby without "upgrade".

i already upgraded the shocks and the lockers. it doesnt mean that the stocks r bad its just i want to make it feel like the real thing.

cheers.

its the diffrence between a mustang and a F430 ferrari.

Sure, the mustang is very capable out of the box and is great fun to drive.
But once you compare it to something that far out of its league... you just think... wow, that mustang could have been better.

Dont pay any attention to the Losi hating people like me.... They (me included) obviously don't have to much to complain about, we still own our MRC's...

the reason you see all the bad things is because only people with problems post up the people who dont post up usually have good stuff most of the time its just a call to Horizon Hobby to get it fixed.

X2, that's exactly what I was going to say. I never had any trouble with my MRC in stock form, thus I never posted up anything about it.

"You mean that *enter random company name here*'s parts break...
No, parts don't ever break.

Every manufacturer has parts that break. The more moving pieces something has the more parts can break. I got pissed recently about some broken parts... I ranted, got slapped around, and just bought new stuff... No biggie. If it breaks at least you get to fix it... which gives you the opportunity to see what else you can modify!

it all depends on what you want to do with it. i still run a stock (ish) chassis; i moved the upper shock mounts halfway between the stock hole and the body post hole and cut off the remainder. i like it as it is and it works just fine. I still want to do a aftermarket chassis, but because the stocker is bad, but because i like to spend the rent money on stuff i don't need.

something else to consider is that the mrc comes as an rtr, which means that losi had to try and balance performance, quality, and PRICE. they could have put in the best of every thing, but people won't pay $1100 for a rtr mrc, some thing had to give, and thankfully they seem pretty good at knowing what everyone will want to upgrade anyway. so essentially, some of the stuff does suck, but thats only because the quality, performance or price of something else was more important.
