Default motor comparison?

OK I have seen the Mongoose run, and the Cobalt 16t run as well. How does the Holmes compare to the two as far as wheelspeed and torque?

They don't. Depends on how much you want to spend.

so should I just spend the extra and get a cobalt? I really don't want to go brushless. I pulled the crawler esc and am putting my extra FXR in it.

Eric, how do they compare in regards to take off performance? How precise or smooth are they?

The cobalt motors ? They super smooth and start up is great. They got some wheelspeed too.

I would go with the mongoose. The run times are insain and the startup is better that a brushed. It also stayes very cool, even on a 3 cell pack. I have a mongoose in this.

Thanks flex, I should get the hammers tomorrow, at least I hope. Do you or anyone know if the HobbyLobby on Parmer stocks IC-2000 tire glue? I really want to see a cobalt in action, I cant decide on getting that or motorman1600's 35t mini.

how many of you guys running the mongoose setup have been breaking cvd's? Thinking about going this route so my tekin can go on my 2.2, just want to make sure I won't be regretting the decision cause of broken parts.

Just a quick note on the Cobalt 16t, Shawn. You will have to run the lowest pinion out there which is a 10, I believe. The Associated RC18 pinion is the one I am running, and you saw all of the low end control and wheelspeed available. HOWEVER, you run it full throttle and it will get HOT, like really hot.

So if you have a FXR already laying around, sure, spend the $35 or whatever and get the Cobalt. If you don't and want to start fresh from Stock, I'd say go with the Mongoose. Less of an overall investment, and a great option for the grunt and spin. My $.02.

Mike! Thanks for the input. Yeah I happen to have an extra FXR just sitting in my electronics drawer. I guess I need to order a pinion to then. I am going to program the power level down some with the esc so hopefully It won't get to hot. My 3yo daughter drives it alot so Its going to have to be set low so she can control it. I guess I will just see how it goes. If it isn't worth a crap I will sell the FXR to put towards a mongoose setup.
