Upper Shock Mount ? does anyone make a good upper shock mount so that I can lose the entire upper tray? I've seen some where the tray is cut so that the end is all that's left - but someone has to make a nice upper brace/shock mount. |
dark soul makes one im not sure i it will fit but what alot of people do is drill out the hole at the end of the chassie plate and mount them there |
The Dark Soul inboard shock mount will work with the stock chassis as long as you use the supplied spacers. |
I had thought about mounting the ball directly to the chassis plate (drilling out that hole a little so it would fit) - but I will look into some of the other options as well. |
Drill out the chassis, pop the stock ball stud in, and nut it in place... works everytime, is cheap, and most of all... it works perfectly. |
I removed the whole tray and for the moment, am using two lengths of all-thread until I get some chassis braces (I drilled out the chassis). The shock uppers are mounted on the all-thread, just in-board of the chassis; and I'm using some tubing as spacers on the all-thread to keep the shocks from sliding. It looks just a bit ghetto, for now, but it works. |
I found a tap and tapped the hole then used loktite to hold the stock balls in place on the farme. Although, I am toying with making a mount out of some brakeline and angling the shocks toward the center of the chassis much like the Dark Soul mount. |
