well i bit the bullet and ordered both brushless
setups for the mrc!:shock:

ive got the micro pro w 4200kv in hand and the novak mongoose 18.5t
is in the mail on its way.

ive never done a review w alot of pics and info
but im gonna try my best to give as much specs
as possible.

ive got sat off,so im dedicating that day for testing!

Im very interested to see how the sensorless motor works with so much geardown.

Will be watching this one cuz of my plans for a future MRC build I will be going brushless.

I ran againest soundcolor the other day and he had the mamba micro pro with the brushless motor and it did ok at best it was soooooo t tt t ww ii tt cc hhh yyyy!

not much testing,
ran the micro pro inside
didnt have the castle link to modify
yes the old "cogging issue" came into play.
didnt like that.

swapped out the mamba for the mongoose
today when i got to work, "wow":shock:
what a difference,sensored -un sensored makes.

the lil weasel tore the snakes head off!!

hands down guys,if ya wanna go brushless
go with the mongoose!
no glitch or twitchin,stallin.

the mongoose has a decent drag brake,
i havent messed with it alot,still at work.

What is the ratings on the Novak Three-80 that you're using?

Will that motor work with a CC micro ESC? The Three-80 has an additional connector that I have no idea what's it's for... :shock:

the motor itself is 18.5t
the wire is for the sensor -"sensored motor"
the esc is able to detect where the rotor is.
no the novak will not work on the cc micro
without the sensor properly.

The mongoose really wakes this thing up. I run it in a SSS chassis (everything is nice and low) and punching the throttle at full steer will make the rig flip easily.

What are the dimensions of the Novak Mongoose motor? I didn't see that on your posts. Since I just fried my motor, I wanna get one but need to make sure it fits my chassis."thumbsup"

same size as stock motor-380 size.
just pulled one off the spin rack and matched it up."thumbsup"

What is the pinion and spur sizes you are running?? I assume 60 stock spur and what pinion??

the novac mongoose recommends a 15t pinion w/the 60t spur to keep temps down. I like this combo w/the shorter rock claws/chisels but w/the taller flatirons its a lil too fast for me. I just changed to a 62/13t setup & this worked great w/the flatirons but too slow w/my chisels (not enough wheel speed) Im currently runnin a 62/14t & I really like this combo, seems to have a lil more punch w/good wheel speed on the top end!!!
