Hopefully we get a micro RX sometime soon. I know I have been working on it for a couple years now.

I'll get action shots at our comp coming up next weekend. Still haven't got a body ordered and painted. Just been pulled too many different directions lately.

LOL Ya by "working" on it do you mean complaining to me?
I'm trying!!!
You wouldn't be getting pulled in too many directions if you would finish a build once in a while before you started another Oh ya I went there.
Besides how hard is it to order a body and slap some peanut butter on it?

You have had your traxxas pin mod done now for a while and I saw that you ran in the 1.9 class at ECC. Just wanting to know how that mod was holding up? My north Indy hobbytown still hasn't been able to get me those pins, so I called Traxxas today and they are sending me out 2 pkg. for free!! Right now I am just holding it all together with 4-40 allthread and locktight on the nuts so I can start to run it. Going to run it on 4/21 for the !st time with the new motor and hopefully some new Mayhem 1.9 comp wheels, so I hear. It has been a long time getting this together just waiting on parts. But it should be wort it.

The pin mod has held up great. Only ran it on 10 courses in competition so far but even during testing I have never lost an e-clip or anything. It is such a minimal mod but it's always just one more thing to keep me thinking. Hopefully I can keep improving on the idea and concept.

It looked sweet a$$, the steering set-up and was loving the rim, tire, foam set-up, those narrow puppys looked good and lots of belly clearance also.

It performed well, I placed 24th at ECC with it. Needs just a little more weight up front for my liking and I am really wanting to get the new VP wheels mounted up still!

Default Is it finished?

Did you ever finish the rig? I'd love to see some final shots with the VW body.

BTW - you went with the 18.5T motor, right?

I never did get a new body on it. I beat the hell out of it this season though. Ended up winning the KCRC 2010 series with it. Yes I am running the 18.5 motor.

a wheel to do a similar mod.

I drew the adapter in Solidworks and cut it out on my CNC. So it was easy for me, but I had a pretty good set of tools available

Harley -

I'm assembling my GC3 right now and was wondering if you're using the stock servo mounting posts or if you found something stronger. I'm using the RCBros servo clamps but haven't found a good option for posts.

I'd also love more details on how to do the BTA steering for those of us without access to a machine shop.

Thanks for all the help!
Mike

I used stock servo posts off an Axial kit. As far as the BTA goes there are no parts that require a machine shop. The servo plate is stock, I just drilled the factory holes to 3mm for the servo posts. The tie rod is just 6-32 all thread sleeved in thin aluminum. The high steer knuckles are from Egressor.
