Thats all I hear about these damn things is how brittle the CVD's are. I would have to assume that the LCC axles would be up to the task, especially if I get a set of the V3 or 4 or whatever the hell they are up to now......

Oh and just wait to you see these wheels! You guys are going to be jealous as hell!

As we have been discussing, those are custom machined LCC axle shafts.

Will you be able to run your outer bearing? It's kind of hard to get a perspective of where you stopped turning the shaft down.

Those V3's have a lot more beef right by the ball, I am assuming that causes a slight sacrifice in steering angle. The stock MRC CVDs neck down to about 3mm before the ball. The LCC V2 CVDs are only about 10% larger at 3.3mm or so. If the V2's will hold I would rather have the steering angle.

Actually the mrc and v3 cvd have the same angle. The mrc one can turn a hair more but that's with binding the pin. V2's are neck down under the ball where the V3's are beveled at the bell. So they actually turn the same. I have V2's here too if you want a pic.

OK the difference in the bell is what I wasn't seeing than. That is all I needed to know really. I figure I might as well order the V3's since I will need to replace whatever I pull out of my LCC anyway.

Thanks for the push and glad you tackled it first

Don't forget to order up the lcc hex's too. The mrc one is too thick. Won't let you tighten the wheel nut all the way.

This MRC is getting a little out of hand, $51.40 for axles I am going to go chop to hell.

I know what you mean. But at least it's cheaper than if they made super 300's

Just barely, if you take into account any money for machine work. Makes you appreciate how cheap Super 300's really are considering your getting axles made from 300M chromoly!

Wheels and bearings showed up today!

I can't show the wheels just yet but they are hands down the most detailed 1.9 wheel I have ever seen.

I am hoping to see the parts from JP tomorrow and the new CVD's from RPP by Thursday.

Where can I get some of there, backordered everywhere.
On the other hand, I'm paying real close attention to where you are going to mount the electronics, Chassis is so thin it's difficult to get everything in there, thanks for giving a step by stem so far!

As soon as GP's has them in stock I will try and remind Jason to give me a heads up so I can post up.

Electronics will be fun, especially with a sensored brushless sooooo many wires.

This is great. But I've only broke one set of the MRC cvd's. The rest have been modified dog bones. And every time it was the inner shaft, right at the neck down part. What's the clearance between the stub shaft and axle C

If you push these things and run high power in them it is pretty easy to blow up the CVD's. That isn't everyone's driving style but I definitely push my rig as far as I can. I will smoke a part if that is what is between me and a win I watched out local guys go through a lot of CVD's last season. Going to shaft with a minimum dimension of over 25% larger than the Losi CVD's should get rid of any problems.

Just a little less than a mm of clearance for the CVD's with stock plastic C's.

I hear ya. I push the limits that's for sure. Three broken shafts on one course. Two stock inners and the other was about a 8 month old cvd inner. I like this idea of using the lcc stuff. One less thing to worry about. But at what cost? This may be for someone with deep pockets
