Default Chassis On hold

After a lot of though and seeing the chassis that are out there for the MRC I decided not to produce this chassis. If you would still like one, PM me and I will send you the DXF CAD file and, you can get one cut thought http://www.customlasercutting.com/in...ials#filesetup.

Back to the drawing board, I'm going to come up with somthing better for the MRC.

That's a great looking truck you've got there, love the green body panels.

Thanks for the great photos in the thread, it must have been a tough decision to shelve the chassis as it looks like a very capable design.

I should have not posted that last night in the mid of my frustration. Im just going shelf the design for a few weeks while i think of ways to make it better. Im not happy with the way its going and i need to tune the design a little to make it a little more user friendly, ie 4 link plates and re work the upper link and shock mounts for proper clearance.

Hold tight im not giving up yet, just need to do some concept reworking.

glad to hear you are not scrapping completely. when i get my hands on some plates i will see if there is any info i can give on some 4 link plates and link placement. i have quite a few different axle plates and boxes of links from inexpensive to top of the line. there is still hope there aren't that many bodiless chassis out there for the mrc and i can see the MVP being a very valuable contributor to this class that is only going to get bigger

Good News! The more variety there is in chassis choice, the better the chance of the class growing in strength and the number of independent fabricators out there. More strength to your elbow chap

Default Inspiration

Alright so I was doing some yoga with my wife tonight and just happend to be looking at my MRC sitting on my desk when a light when off in my head and I think I figured out how to salvage my original design and fix the issues I was having with the shock angles because the chassis was too wide and I didn't like the way it was tucked in under the nose in the front.

Check this two piece design out. Let me know if you have any questions. This design also gives you the ability to better mount say a Sidewinder micro and some small Lipos in the cab.

I like the 'Phoenix', looks like a great solution. I look forward to seeing more.

I really like the looks of your design. Keep us up to date on your progress with it. I would love to pick one up from you to try out when you have them ready for sale.

Ill be updating as i go, at this point i need to makesure everything will clear without binding. Its gonna take a little time, im low on $ at the moment but will give me time to fine tune the design.

I think she's ready to go to the cutter but now I gotta wait for pay day to get that done for the proto type.

Default MRC Over Drive MOD...

Did the over drive mod, it was really easy, no shimming required. Took it for a spin around the house and didn't notice too much of a diference in the drive but if you hold it up you can see that the front tires definantly spin faster than the rear. It was a quick and cheep mod. I don't think it was nesicary but never the less was easy.

First thing you'll notice when crawling on proper terrain is the reduction of torque twist.

On mild driving it's not so obvious, but hit the rocks and some angles and you'll see a noticeable difference

Yup, did mine aweek or so ago. Not had a great amount of testing (weather is cold and damp = greasy greasy rocks) but does seem to help, especially at higher wheel speeds - reduces amount of back flips the truck tries to do!
Seems to help pull the chassis down a little (kind of sucking it into the ground).

Waiting for a dry day to get some traction, see how torque twist goes.

Default "M"VP Chassis update

Looks like we will be moving on to prototype testing in the next couple of weeks. I sent out the CAD for a cutting quote and should hear back any day now as to how long it will take. Stay tuned for the build.
