Thanks, this one has been a challange to design, It's going to make mounting the eletronics a little tight but it should work out very well.

Has anyone head if they've released the 2011 Comp Rule book yet of if they are going to change anything?

Default MVP v2 Build

So it starts...

Losi Slider Motor
3Racing Shafts
Traxxas VXL pinion in gron axle for over drive
CC Sidewinder 1/18
Motoworx 8 hole aluminum wheels 4oz ea
RC4WD 1.9 X-Locks
Crawler Inovations Soft Foams
Losi MRC Pro Aluminum Shocks - Blue Springs

The MVP v2 kit comes with all the hardware to build it and 4 2.5x20mm hex to out board your shocks.

Prep for the chassis and 4 link plates... Strip it down to the transmission mounted on the skid with your motor installed.

From your stock MRC keep these parts you will need them:
4 - Ball Shock Mounts
2 - Aluminum Braces the Ball Mount Screw Into
6 - servo plate screws
4 - stock lower links or high clearance links/hardware

You will need:
Full size servo Brackets/Hardware
New upper Links(lengths will be posted once I get that far)

Note: Stock 3 Link will not work with out modification.

While you have it all torn down you might as well crack the trans and axles and inspect/clean your gears and bearings.

Make sure your half shafts are installed on the transmission before ataching the side plates. I'm going to use these 3Racing shafts I had laying around for months.

For those of you not familiar with how to outboard your shocks, take the 4 2.5x20mm and mount the shocks like this on the axle.

Depending on what shocks you are using you might need to use a few small washers to raise the ball mount off the chassis. I used a small nylon spacer about 2mm wide.

Axles and skid are set up for the chassis now.

More soon...

adam, i've been keeping an eye on this thread. given the 4vp on my venom creeper has worked out so well i was curious about the other products.

looking at your pics it seems like the mrc is extremely similar to the maxstone 16 i bought for my son for x-mas. axles, transmission, etc all look the same. if i was interested in this chassis what measurements would you need from the maxstone 16 to confirm it would fit? in case you were curious here is a thread where i have a couple pics of the rig: exceed rc maxstone 16 upgrades and tuning?

i made some upgrades but still need to work on the suspension (go to 4-link, different springs/oil, etc)

The only measurments I would need to know is how wide the skid is from the inside of the vp to inside of the vp, and the width from center to center of the vp mounting holes lastly the hight from the bottom of the skid to the highest point on the moter plate. to make sure the center piece clears.

Default More Built

Se I ended up needing to make the center wider so we don't use the stock brace after all, instead we will use 4 provided lock nuts. So we will install the front and rear brace then the ball's in the apropriat shock mounting position.

Once that's done, you can install the eletronics on the shock plates.

Make sure before you mount the slide the shock plate in place, you have the roof braces removed for easier access. It will bolr on and you're almost ready for your body panels.

Here's some photo's I took with it assembles without the eletronics in it.

The kit weighs in at 3.7oz

Here's what you get.

Front plate(design needs tweeked)

Rear Plate. You can use the stock lowers with traxxas ends for the rear uppers. you can mount them on top of the plate to raise your link geometry with a 3x6mm spacer or you can tuck it under the plate as well.

MORE TO COME>>>....... must... get... sleep.......

Need to rework the front links a little, those ones are a little too long... I think I'm going to add holes further up the plate to use stock lowers in the front as well.

Default Finishing touches...

All done, I just recycled the panels from v1 since they required little modification.

So if you need easy access ot the cab of the rig, all you have to do it remove the two screws holding the rear or front roof brace and pivit it up out of the way. I like to put a small 300amh 2c lipo in the cab for comps.

Here She IS......

Rear

Front

Default Over All Weight With this set up...

Here's the weight run down. I don't know what average is for the MRC but this is where I sit. I tend to run a little on the heavy side.

Rig weight minus wheels - 1 lb 5.5 oz

Front Wheel - 7.2oz

Rear Wheels - 5.6oz

Rig Comp Ready - 3 lbs .5oz

Thanks fellas, I should have her out on the rocks Saturday for a few hours to see how she works. I'll post pictures for sure.

Tom - aka VN1500 - is going to be official testing the MVP for me as well and doing a write up so look for his build if you want a second opinion.

If all goes well, I have 1 extra prototype that I'll sell for El-chepo so I can get the production line going... or perhaps I might sence a Give Away to ring in the new year... Stay tuned.

this is looking like a great option. i still need to measure my son's maxstone 16 to see if it will fit but i'll probably just modify it to fit even if it doesn't match exactly.

when do you think you'll be setting the price on the full kit?
