I did some trading for a MRC and have bought all the parts to turn it into a MRC Pro.....now I need a baseline setup.

Del Monte- I was able to run my MRC pro today in our ORCRC comp series. I made a set of knock of boss claws that hooked insanely well, with my bta setup, and rear bent links. The rig worked great up until my front driveline snapped like a little twig lol. 3s is killer in these things. Anyways, I haven't touched the shock geometry all to much, minus the micro springs up front, however I get a huge amount of torque twist while driving. I did flip my transmission for electronics clearance and am curious if this is to blame? I know the orginal MRC had this issue regardless of direction. If thats the case, what have you done to solve/reduce this issue.

So far I'm insanely happy with the new platform, performance, upgrades and price fit the bill, but the twist is something else. I was leaning like a cholo the entire course before she broke.

I've been thinking about jumping into the crawler world with one of these little guys, but I have one question. You're using a a 5955TG which seems like overkill (not a bad thing) but I was thinking about using an HS-5245mg and now I'm wondering if that will have enough torque for the MRC Pro now that I've seen what you're running.

Here's the setup. All the information is pulled off of the sheet found here on www.Losi.com

http://www.losi.com/Products/Support...rodID=LOSA0101

Front Suspension

Upper Track Rod: #10

Shock Arm Position: B

Shock Mount Position: #1

Shock Oil: Losi 35wt.

Piston: Stock 3-hole

Inner Limiter: 7mm

Outer Limiter: none

Spring: LOSB1119 Silver Soft Mini-T rear springs

Rear Suspension

Upper Track Rod: #5

Shock Arm Position: A

Shock Mount Position: #1

Shock Oil: 35wt.

Piston: 2-hole right rear, 1-hole left rear

Inner Limiter: 7mm

Outer Limiter: none

Spring: LOSB1447 Stock MRC RTR springs

Front and rear shocks are outboarded with LOSB1446 Outboard Shock Mount kit.

I also have the shocks mounted upside down. With the shocks flipped, I had to use a 2mm spacer on the upper shock mount to keep everything free.

The 5245MG is a good servo, but it doesn't have the power of a full size servo. It will be more then enough for backyard running and free-crawling, but it probably not enough for competition.

If you're going to invest in a nice digital servo, I would definitely recommed going full-size.

I have a Futaba S9551 Low profile Servo that I could pull from one of my other trucks. Would that servo be powerfull enough with 121oz @ .11 sec? And would there be enough room next to the servo to mount a battery with a 55 by 30mm footprint? And would there be any advantages/disadvantages to running a low profile servo compared to a regular length servo?

Thanks!

I have seen a few guys run the Low-Profile Futaba servo, and they seem to really like it.

200oz is probably the minimum for a solid competition servo. You could definitley get by with less, but there will always be one or two spots where the truck won't turn as easily as you would like.

Losi's 2S 600mah lipo is roughly 35x30x20mm and it fits nicely on the plate next to a full size servo. I have squeezed a 48x24x20mm ThunderPower 3s 325mah pack onto the front plate, but its tight. You will probably have some trouble with a 55mm long pack.

If this is the only battery you have, you could mount it to the rear upper links without too much trouble

BTW do you know how long the screws are in the LOSB1446 kit? Are 2mm/20mm long enough?

LOSB1446 includes (2) 2x18mm screws. 2x20's will work just fine

I just went to the hobby shop and picked up the proper springs using your setup as a start for mine. However I couldn't find the right pistons to save my life. Can you by chance provide me with the proper part number. Thanks!

I stuffed and crammed and finally fig out how to get my stock front wheels to weigh 9.5 oz on my pro but my over all rig weight is only 2lb 8 oz with a 3s on the front links should I put weight in the rear wheels to make my pro weigh 3.2 lbs? It seems lite in the rear.

Are you using the IN or the OUT holes at each axle?
