Default New MRC owner

I've been messing around with my highly modified AX-10 for a couple months, and after a couple peoples recommendations, I also picked up an MRC yesterday. At the same time I got the LiPo upgrade, and the servo/batt tray.

Here's where it's at ATM:

Still need to trim away most of the tray. But I have a friend selling a chassis, so I'll probably hold off until I know if I'm getting that. Also getting beadlock rims.

The shocks definitely have to go. My other plan was to get the 30* links. Run that for a bit, to get a better feel for what needs to come next.

Just picked up a used Slingshot chassis, Pro Line Titus beadlocks, and a mess of other things to work on getting the Slingshot up and running, with max adjustability.

I'll post pix when I make some progress.

From one MRC noob to another, welcome to the club

Looks like you've got the right idea so far.

lockers
motor
wheel weight
tires

thoes are most important things to get. my buddy does great with event with the stock chassis (3 link) for all the mrc noobs that want to keep it cheap. all hes done was :
cut the chassis battery plate
cf servo plate w/ battery
mini rovers
wrap 1/2 of lead in the front wheels
a bunch of preload clips on the driversidr rear shock
slider motor.
of course all metal lockers

Thanks for the feedback.

I have the metal diff locker, but need to order 2 axel ones.

I found a Traxxas link set that matches the links perfectly. So I should have a good setup with the Slingshot. I have Pro Line Titus with full weights up front, none on rear on some cut tires....I'll order Rovers. I have Losi alum MRC shocks that are being prepped with grease today, I'll add oil tomorrow.

I might be able to wrap it up tomorrow, but I need another link set from Traxxas.

I'm going to end up making some type of bodiless top to put on the chassis. I have a bodiless 2.2 and love it, so I'll make something up.
