Default Show me your shell mounts

Been experimenting with various ways of mounting me shell on the new (BWD) chassis, but as yet i'm not happy with any.

So i'd be grateful if you'd post some pics of how you've mounted your shell on your aftermarket chassis please

Cheers
Mark

Did you get the Axial rod end kit ?

http://www.liquidrc.com/index.php?ma...ducts_id=53333

I plan to use the 2 body posts from that kit, drill the chassis cross braces and either place a flat on the brace or hollow the bottom of the post.

The Gunnar Mounts look good too, I was wondering what it was you were running Jeremy.

Cheers, Neil

Yep i've got one of them packets on the way.

I'm worried about weakening the crossbrace's if i drill em.

As i was faffing around moulding plastic to fix the rear diff i had another bash at the velcro mounts today.

Managed to do a slightly better job, the rear holds on like a Jack Russell on a vicars leg, i need to make the front one bigger.

Holds really well, you can just about pick up the car by the shell, it's a bit of a nightmare to detach though so when the new shell arrives i'll try out a few of your ideas guys, thanks.

Cheers
Mark

Well, I currently run a MiniJuice chassis.....so no need for body mounts. But I ran those Gunnar mounts for quite a while with great success!

Cheers Jeremy.

Mark, you look to be running your servo mounting posts back to front, or am I ?

As for weakening the chassis brace, I've got HR aluminium chassis braces coming which I'll run the top shock mounts into which will free up the delrin braces up for body mount duties. I've got four front and four rears (no choice) coming my way so getting a couple out to Greece would be a pleasure, just say the word mate.

Not sure what you mean mate.
The posts have the holes all the way through so can be mounted any way.
There is a kink at the top of the posts, with this facing out it's a bit tight and the posts need to be bent slightly.
With the kink facing in though they line up perfectly.

Unfortunately the posts are only plastic and only have the top mounting hole, so i get a fair bit of flex.

I was expecting the new posts and a fair bit of over stuff last week, but i don't know if you saw on the news but we had 22 mail bombs last week so the post both in and out the country was held for 48 hours.

Get some pics up when you've fitted em, be good to see (AND the rest of your build, hint hint ;))

Thanks for the picture. Just what I was after. What receiver you running, it doesn't look like the stock losi?

Not heard about the parcel bombs. Hope that doesn't affect my spacers or your foams. Bloody inconsiderate terrorists! Stay safe mate.

Hope you are sitting down when you read this - I've posted the start of my build thread so feel free to comment. The finer points of set up will come later.

No worries you want to see any other angles just gimme a shout

I'm using the FrSky Rx and Tx modules, absolutely fantastic bit of kit and the 4 channel Rx is tiny.

Yes mate it's been a crazy couple of weeks, your wideners might need an extra day or 2, worst case scenario i'd say i'd be Friday.

For stuff coming the other way, i don't hold me breath any more, it gets here when it gets here

Off to take a gander now.

Cheers
Mark
