| Simple Build
I am an offroading freak! I own a few Jeeps already but since I am married and the ol lady is cutting my budget on them I decided to build up a RC crawler... I purchased this about 2 years ago before I deployed to Afghanistan. I played with it for about a week in total. I left it with my wife to take back home so her Little Brother could play with it... wrong choice haha he broke the Steering Servo mount which is only a $6 part which will be here Wednesday! Anyways long story short... Here is my build... Spray painted the wheels Black but kept the outter simulated beadlocks Red Before... During... After... MOUNTED... |

Hi and welcome +1 Looks like your on the right track, it is well worth moving the battery off the top of the chassis. I used some velcro and stuck mine on top of the servo, massive improvement. Ohhhhhhh and more pics of your Mrs please |

Anybody got a list of bolt on/do it yourself mods? I looked through the ultimate/beginners guides but they dont give much info.

I found most of the mods in the sticky guides were useful. As i say putting the battery on top of the servo made a massive difference. Adding a bit more weight to the front wheels helps as well. Think there is a guide somewhere about this, basically it's a case of carefully cutting the tyres off, sticking some weights to the wheel then re-glueing the tyres. Other than that you will need some metal diff lockers Losi Diff Locker (LOSB1433) x 2 Losi Centre Diff Locker (LOSB1435) |

Most people put the NIMH back on top of the servo with velcro or a strap. other an that without going lipo you could split the cells and do half on either side of the servo and 2 behind the servo. I tried that but I suck a sodering and tosted a cell.

Nice. A refreshing (beer and water) course! I forget how good the stock MRC is. I used a stocker a few weeks back, and forgot how much fun they can be in standard form. (of course, once you get modding a they get better and better). I think (IMHO) that the standard chassis has a lot to offer most people. I modded my first MRC using stock chassis, and it was awesome. Stock motor, chassis, losi rock bashers (awesome tyre). Modified shock position and Lipo battery and uprated mini servo did me good for over a year of use before I started splashing the cash on new chassis etc . I still reckon that old chassis was as good as my GC-3 in climbing ability. |
