Default broken lockers?

HI, just picked up a used mrc and noticed it seems like it's open diff, the front left and rear right are driving and the other 2 spin untill resistance is applied then they sort move freely. Is this broken lockers or could an open diff have been installed?

I read this faq but still wasn't sure:
Q. I was out driving my truck around the yard/rocks/ditch/laundry/over the kids, and now only the front/rear wheels turn, its like I dont have four wheel drive anymore/ or I only have 3 wheel drive now...
A. You have broken a locker. The axles on the MRC have little plastic lockers that mount inside of the ring gear housing, to much torque, and the metal axle shaft spins in the locker , instead of turning with the locker. You need to buy some metal lockers.
There isnt currently a how to thread on replacing them because it is very easy to do, refer to your owners manual for dissassembly and reassembly

yup you definitly have broken lockers. upgrade to metal ones and that will solve your problem. while your at it you might as well buy one for front and rear and a center one. heres alink to each

http://www.rpphobby.com/SearchResult...rch=mrc+locker

remember only one package does one axle for front or rear. so you need 2 and 1 center one. post up some pics of this lil mrc of yours.

If you can, get the RcBros locker, it completely removes the plastic on and around the diff,(aside from the axle.)

it looks like the RC Bros are on back order.
I think I'll head up to hobby town today and pick them up.

I bought this for my nephew for Christmas from Brandon f.
http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/showthread.php?t=282349
It has the GC2 chassis, aluminum shocks, aluminium servo/electronics mounts a bigger servo and mayhem beadlocks. It came with the origional chassis, 2 sets of extra bent links, old shocks and stock wheels.
I think I'm going to keep the Mayhem wheels, give the nephew the stockers and start my own build. I found lmc axles on ebay for $70.
I'm really enjoying this little truck... I don't have a full time crawler and I think this may be the one to build. I'm currently building 2 micro crawlers and a honcho so it'll be a while befor I can finish this one. Actually, my first mcrc was up and running but I blew the esc 2 days ago!

I would go with the metal lockers not the alum. ones. I twisted the aulm lockers almost all the way around. The Losi are better IMO.

you are gonna want to get some of these:
http://www.tcscrawlers.com/Hot-Racin...8-p-17250.html

It gets rid off all of the plastic and you won't twist them off.

I'm sure you twisted a cheap pot metal HR Locker. Never heard nor seen and issue with ours. And if I did, you'd have a new set free of charge.

So this HR part "replaces" the whole differential & housing (LOSB1433 & LOSB0941)?
or
it also replaces just the differential lockers (LOSB1433)?

Thanks, I need to place an order because I want to try and have this ready Christmas day.
