Well, after following many of your threads, I decided to join the fun... Contents: Losi Pro Roller Ripper 7 Racing Eclipse Chassis Castle Creations Micro Sidewinder Castle Creations 4200kv motor Lunsford Titanium Lower Links (front) Losi Bent Links (rear) Losi Outboard Shock spacer kit Spektrum DX3E Turnigy 959 Servo Zippy 500mAh 2C Lipo Mini E-Revo Pinion Associated 11T pinion Hot Racing 62T spur Wishlist: Rovers or ??? still undecided Billet Works Designs Wheels Billet Works Designs Motor Plate Crawler Mafia Motor Crawler Innovations Foams Spektrum Micro RX Low Profile Servo Had to play with the rear link mounting position so the uppers would clear the bent lowers. Trying to clean up the wires in this little beast is a test of patience... Brushless motor has low end cogging issues and NO drag brake, I've played with the settings on the Sidewinder and cannot get any brakes at all. Changed the punch control to High and the Timing to Low and that helped with the low end cogs. Wish the drag brake worked even a little... Question, Comments, Concerns, Criticism, General feedback... Please Post... Last edited by WTF; 02-11-2012 at 02:28 PM. Reason: fixed pics |

| Thanks, I will get more pics with some specs, and some actions shots uploaded soon. Not sure yet... Thanks for the drag break tip. Gotta get a link now... grrrr... I'm undecided on the motor I've read so many good things about the Crawler Mafia and the Holmes Hobbies motors I was thinking of trying one of those, but I think the LHS may have a slider motor in stock, may try it out and have it as a backup when I get one of the others... |

I really like the way my eclipse handles.....I started by rounding off the sharp corners and mounted my rear uppers on the chassis spacers. In other words I used an axial bent link end in place of the chassis spacer and got this car to stick like glue....came in third in our final comp of the season ( couple of bad choices) but I really trust this design....best car ive had...

So, the Castle Link was the trick, 213% drag brake setting really made this more capable (thanks again Abavuso)... But I still wasn't satisfied with the low end of the Castle Brushless motor... so I invested in a Holmes Hobbies 22T and a BWD motor plate. Left the 11/62 gear combo, and damn it just about broke my wrist when I grabbed the tire and pulled the throttle Tryed it out on my indoor course and... So I got a set of MIP CVD Driveshafts... I pulled the tires apart to double check they were real beadlocks, they are, but they remind me of the PVC mod to the micro crawler tires. I was not too thrilled on the wheels or foams. So, I got a set of DNA Snipers, some Crawler Innovations Single Stage Foams(Super Soft for the front and Medium for the rear), and a set of Proline Chisels. Then to soften up the suspension I got a set of Mini-T springs... And WOW this rig just keeps getting better and better. Was having a slight problem with the shock adjusters rubbing on the side panel, but with the advice of run2jeepn I spaced the rear shocks out with another nut at the chassis side and the rubbing/unwinding stopped. Fantastic pics and great build I think we tend to forget how much torque these little motors put out, seeing the state of those drive shafts just brings it to light :o |

Agreed, I am amazing that all the components (being so small) cope with the torque, that even a stock MRC puts out. When they do break and parts fail, its no suprise. Impressive little crawlers! | |

| http://youtu.be/uz2Ijn2JE8o It would be nicer if I could embed, but I guess that privilege is only allowed in certain parts of the forums? Oh well, theres a link to the video, just a compilation of random driving... Got another one to edit trying the same line over and over... Thanks for all of the comments... Ya this little rig really amazes me with the amount of torque it can produce and the amount of stress the parts can take. I still can't believe some of the stuff these little rigs can crawl... The shafts do look like licorice, Think I had my slipper to tight and with the bind the tires were in I knew better than to pull the throttle guess I wanted to see its capabilities... As weather permits I'll try and get more outdoor shots... The Sierra Nevada mountain range offers some epic crawling, and epic scenery, I'll try and share the views Left is stock Losi foam, middle is Proline Memory, right is Crawler Innovations single stage As always comments are appreciated and encouraged Last edited by WTF; 02-11-2012 at 02:35 PM. wow those foams look HUGE, I take it they are super soft and compress easily into a tire??!

The foams are a bit bigger, but compressed into the tire with no issues... With that much foam in the tires, they still compress and flex very smoothly. I'm quite impressed with them.
