Go with a 2s lipo around 360-600mAh. The Mongoose can handle 3s but when I ran 3s the esc and motor ran hot. hobbyking.com has a great selection of very affordable lipos. |

I run 350's but I also have a 800 for a backup. the smaller batteries can fit in more places in the chassis. I would sugggest the thunder powers myself. Someone cand probably find you a link. And as helheed said, the 2s is good enough.I dodnt notice my moongoose getting hot,I did notice my brake was slighty stronger. But the benifite wasnt much,I prefer the lighter, smaller 2s batteries. | |

also 3s was hell on the ring and pinions. If you haven't beefed up all that you need to replace in those axles you sure will when you run a 3s |

I use the Losi 2S cubes, which are admittedly expensive, but they are such a small size and 600mah. Since you can immediately charge LiPo's after use, I only need two for comps.

IF you are comping, the smaller batteries in the 325-350 range are best. As said above, they are lighter and will fit in more places, allowing you to get the balance your rig needs. However, run time while bashing will be short, waaaay short actually. If you aren't comping, then I would go for at least 500-800mah. I run both 2 and 3 cells on my mongoose depending on the course (on less technical courses speed is important). I have the Thunder power 325's for comps, but the Novak doesn't need the 45c they have. I run cheapo 20c packs in the same range and they do fine for about 1/5 the cost. Hobbypartz.com has insanely cheap lipo prices and free shipping from the USA and they are fast.

I use these batteries http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbyking/s...idProduct=9170 and really like them fit real nice on the axle and gives lots of run time.
