Hitec Servo Trouble
 

I picked a Hitec 645 for my MRC yesterday and its actin up. When the servo is turned one direction it will then reset to a position on that side, when it is turned the other way it will reset to a different position on that side so that there are two neutral positions depending on which way it was turned. It will not go back to the original neutral position it was in when powered on. I'm new to rc electronics and am a little lost as to what to do. Ive done some searching and found problems with the 645 but not mine. Maybe its a simple fix, I don't know. Any help is appreciated.

What radio?
it may possibly be underpowered, not having enough strenght to get back to center.

stock radio that came with the mrc

Check you steering direction and steering trim on the controller.The stock controllers are not the best quality. Put in a fresh battery, then take the horn off the servo and center it. Crank the steering direction close to the on/off switch up to the horizontal molded line on the case and then tinker with the steering trim, top small knob near the front of the Tx. Put the horn back on and then give it a try.

Just something else to try.

Well I figured out the problem, kind of. When I hooked the steering link up to the horn the coming back to center problem stopped, not sure why. But at least it works now. It does grind slightly for a few seconds though after returning to center. If I wiggle the wheels a little bit it goes away. Not sure if thats normal or not. Thanks for the suggestions. Now all I need is a new set of shocks and I'm ready to crawl again!

Umm I guess more of a buzz. Its not loud, fairly faint.

not a big deal just the servo trying to center itself.

Any chance you are using the stock steering arm? Cause I used it at first and had a similar problem.. Then realized the splines weren't exactly the same.. I put one that came with the new servo and my problem was resolved.
