Thanks for all the kind words! I have been thinking about some 4" tires for the rig. Well I decided on some and made them up tonight . The sidewall donors are 1.9 flat irons. The pin tire is a proline m3 Bowtie 1/8 scale buggy tire. The tires were narrowed to 1 1/2" and shrank down to 4 1/8" tall. I used the flat iron sidewall to get some side lug on the tire. Our comp is tomorrow so we will see how it does. I went soft on the foams the sidewalls are a little on the stiff side.

SUperb work there. I made my own 4.125" flatiron sides / Rover treads a few weeks back. It is hard going at first. Mine are no where near as neat!!

I like the look of the pin treads though.

Thanks for the pics Dave. The truck seemed petty good today. I finished 3rd. The servo went weak on me. Costing me a better finish. The servo is a couple years old now and is pretty much wasted.
The new tires did well. I feel they need to break in a little more. One of the tires that will get better and better each run. Well practice for two weeks then motorama.

Great job on those tires buddy, for a maiden voyage the new mini rig did quite well. I'm sure it'll be dialed in for the finals.

Yes I was thinking about cutting some. Like every couple rows. They work good but could always be better. Thanks

Without going into too much detail, it improves forward turning and forward climbing ability.

If you search, you'll find a ton of info on it in both this forum as well as the Axial AX10 forum.

The mod makes the front axle turn faster than the rear. This does work well on vertical climbs. Also it does make it steer better. Acts a little like a dig.

Well. I ran her at motorama. Truck was very good. I couple driving errors cost me a better finish. I am really pleased with its performance.
