Well maybe I'll explain it sooner,I'm stuck at home fo a while Lets start of with the cons when compared to the contraband I will list in no particulare order 1.motor pinion is pressed on intead of grub screw,I dremmeled my personal motors for a grub cuz I feel its best. But the contraband already has a flat for the grub. 2.motors do not start as unwound teardowns, they are machine wound reedy 19t mini mods. They are then unwound, comm tabs checked and then rewound and given the criminal treatment same as a contraband would. The contraband starts life in teardown form,so no nead to unwind. 3.Brush shunts are smaller than that of contraband 4.This motor has no wins under its belt. The contraband has numerouse wins, and probably more top 5 finishes than any other mini this season.(though there has been no competition till recently) Now to the pro's 1.lighter,this motor is lighter than a contraband, while still putting down equal speed and more torque. 2.The brush is larger, not by much, but still it has a larger diam. This means more contact surface with the hood, and the comm and thats a good thing. 3.You can get one, contrabands are gone Look, basically the contraband was a little bad ass and has dominated the scene recently. The blackmarket is the new kid in the block still, and has no wins under its belt. But the blackmarket has what it takes to dominate aswell. Its simply just a matter of time till its killing the competiton and helping drivers get to the podium. This is how a blackmarket arm starts its life,a visable pos machine wound motor (NEW) nothing used.I was shocked 1st time I open one up,the arm is almost blank and thats a 19t! It is then (intitiated) into the CrawlerMafia family, and becomes one mean mtha fcka Arm is loaded at 17t,now thats what a arm should look like Last edited by rock hard; 08-29-2011 at 01:55 PM. |

I have been trying to get a pic that wil show the difference between the brushes, but cant get one to turn out.Basically its like a comparing a p94 to a standard brush. Its not much bigger, but every little bit helps. The blackmarket brushes are just large enough they will not go into a contraband hood. Last edited by rock hard; 08-29-2011 at 06:14 PM. |

Mine came today, can't wait to try it out. Do I need to break in the motor, or prep anything else before I install in my rig?

Not to speak for paul but just from my own experiance. I have three of pauls motors, They are the best 1.9 motors you can buy IMHO. Full blown comp motor for sure. As for motor life- I took apart my year old contraband comp motor with many, many battery packs thru it and lots of comps and..... Almost no wear at all, the brushes showed only slight normal wear (I couldnt belive it). Will go another year I am sure before I even look at it. It might be overkill for just running around your house but if you want the best then these are it. Smooth down low, with very good wheel speed. Runs cool with 12T pinion. And if you end up comping with your crawler later then you are set. My first comp with my blackmarket motor I took second place out of 14 skilled drivers, 5 points behind first. As for ESC, I couldnt tell you between the two. I run a FXR, it works good. Last edited by TedBull; 10-01-2011 at 10:03 PM. | |

| I run mine on 2S. Most guys who run 1.9 run 2S. Honestly these motors have plenty of wheel speed on 2S. Running on 3S might make the motor run hot. And, you will probably break running gear often.

Thanks ted ram,you have a pm tj.....its really not a good choice for around the house, these are now very, very limited. And they are born to comp and best if they find thier way into comp trucks. |
