| MRC as trail rig?
Just wanted to see if I could get some input on a specific driving style. Traxfan32 had posted just a couple of days ago about a scaled body. I would like one too but ability is more important. I hike and would like to keep my MRC instead of switching to a 1:10 scaler just because of size. The minis fit in a back pack and are usually under 3lbs. Nice for hiking and playing. Currently I'm most interested in making run correctly for trail type driving. I can see that many of these upgrade motors will get me some wheel speed needed for fun trail driving. I don't want to loose the super slow crawl ability for when I hit some rock garden areas or just play with it in the yard. Will these motors/ESC combos like the Mongoose 18.5 crawler system work well for sustained 2-7mph operation? I'm sure there are many factors that will be in question but that is why I'm asking for input. Lets just say I'm starting with a MRC pro stock with a full size servo and 4 oz of weight in the front total and 2 oz in the rear total. I could run 2 cell lipos or 3 cell because all these upgrade ESC are capable. Also little side note question. Has anyone seen, made, or even heard of a mini radio? Again, small would be even easier to shove in a back pack while not in use. |

mongoose will easily hold a 2-7mph range, but you many need to watch temps and gear down alittle. sounds good for a start. as for a mini radio.. the smallest radio you could get is like a dx3e.. or you could get a flatter radio, the dx5i |

MRCCrawler, Did you upgrade to a HH 22T? What ESC are you using and how do you like it? |

i love the torque and wheel speed.. but i wouldnt reccomend it if your continuously running close to high speed. BL would be more efficient. ive got it geared 12T pinion and gets warm easy with about 1 min of throttle at full speed. | |

I'm glad you like it. The temp of the brushed motors is what was leaning me towards the brushless. And being that the mongoose is the only sensored brushless motor for crawling I thought it might do the trick for very good low speed and constant high speed.
