Default MRC shock question/clarify

Ok, in the sticky guide above it says to disassemble the shocks and install tubing on the inside shaft. So if I am thinking right doing this will shorten the shaft/shock and lower the chassis? And if so could you get the same effect by using a limiter strap of some kind to pull/compress the shock from the outside?

try the fuel tubing on the outside shaft just to limit the travel try different sizes to fit ur likn helps to make truck more predictable

You could use some kind of limiting strap I suppose, however this method is much cleaner and does not require you to find/make up mounting points on the chassis and axles that could get in the way.

By only adding the fuel tubing outside the shock body, you only change the effective compression length of the shock and limit articulation. By placing a spacer underneath the piston on the shock shaft, you limit the rebound length and effectively lower GC/ride height. With this done at all 4 shocks you will limit articulation as well. Two birds, one stone

Thanks for the input! Both good points and the what I was looking for

I'll probably disassemble and put the tubing on the inside. I'm thinking it will require less oil as the tube takes up space.

I ordered a GC3 chassis so I hope to post a build thread!

thanks

I took my shock apart and put pin springs in side of the piston and it helps a lot
