Default Mini Revo Driveline Mod For MRC

Well i was tired of twisting stock drivelines and breaking the integy allum. So i took the Traxxas Mini Revo Drive line and made it work. If you have the Traxxas overdrive mod in the axle you will only need to do this mod on the tranny side but you will need the Traxxas Mini Revo yokes.

Traxxas Part # 7056

Traxxas Drivelines

Shaved the ears of the drivelines

Stock Losi metal yokes

Make the hole at the end of each driveline rectangular

Slide the stock Losi yoke into the end of the driveline and drill a hole through the end of the driveline lined up with the Losi yoke tab

You will need a longer 2mm screw to make it through the driveline

Finished

Hope this helps someone out

Very cool mod. Good work on this. My biggest issue with the stock yolks however is the darn pins keep falling out.

I haven't twisted my shafts yet, but the pins have fallen out.

Failing pin idea. I am about to tear into my drive shafts tonight. I am running HR shafts and the pins are a weak point on those also. I am thinking I am going to take JB weld and put a small amount right at the pin joint and see if it can act sort of like the electrical tubing idea. I will report back and let you all know how that goes. If it works then the stock yolk/revo mod is a great way to go in my mind. Light, cheap and strong!

I put a 2mm bolt through with a nut on the other side via locktite & no issues. Some people use grub screws with locktite but I wanted something more heavy duty.

Cool mod!

AsiaTees hobbies do some nice (fair priced) mtal drive shafts, I have been running them for a few months (holmes hobbies 22T motor on 2S LiPo, turning overdrived front and 2.25" modded HB Rover tires = big strain on driveline.) No problems so far. Tough little shafts.

I did what I was talking about and put the jbweld on the pins. Not my best work yet. It tightened the yolk up a bit. Danger Will Robinson Danger.

Maybe if you just put heat shrink over the yolks, easy enough to undo if you don't like it. I'm going to try it once my crawler's crawlin' again.

Default driveline mod

Good idea ,But if you want to cut the labor in half, use a mini revo front or rear ...duh the part that goes to the wheel .remove the stub shaft ,grind ,cut your slot ,drill for the 2mm screw and nut wallaha .just scrounged in my box and got lucky .it is tough as hell .Andonly 1/2 the work .hope this helps .And for 12.00 you get enough to do front and rear .Ill get a part # tomorrow and post then .But thanks for the idea .you just saved my cheap ass about 15.00..It might of took me 10 minutes to do .

Default revo driveshafts Mini that is .

The part number for the mini shaft is 7151 and if is used in the front ,It comes with the set screw with the extra pin attached so it goes all the way thew the pinion not just a set screw half way .if you use it on the rear also just drill a 2mm hole threw your stock pinion shaft .very easy and tough mod .
