| Mini servos
I have been seeing that most people replace the Mini servo with a full size one. Are there any mini servos that are strong enough to crawl? Was looking at possibly getting this one: Savox SH-1250MG Super torque metal gear mini servo. Will this do the trick? http://www.savoxusa.com/Savox_SH1250...avsh1250mg.htm |

This is the spec that it has listed: "Torque(@6.0V oz-in): 63.9" It seems that although its got metal gears, the torque is rather low especially for the price you would pay. You will want at least 150 oz-in from what most people will tell you. I have the full size Htec 645 and its been great. I also wish that there were a mini servo with more torque, and there might very well be. But you would definitely pay for it I imagine. So I would say not to spend $65-$75 on a servo with such low torque. |

If you are going to comp it, NO. Full size is the best way to go. Last edited by Jslick; 05-12-2011 at 11:36 AM. |

I put a Futaba S3003 on my neighbours MRC when he destroyed the stock one. Its been going good for a year, and its only got 57oz/in @6V. He doesnt comp with it, but hes not really that easy on his toys either. Im using a JR ST125MG on mine (with 142oz/in @ 6V) and have broke the M2 screw that links the steering to the knuckle twice. The first time there was enough sticking out to remove the screw, the second time i had to drill it out, so now its an M3 bolt!! If you are just backyard bashing, and dont go really hard on your stuff, a mini servo with 60oz/in would probably be ok if you wanted to stick with the small servo. |

I used the hitec HS-5245MG mini servo (direct fit to stock MRC servo mount and steering links, also comes with a nice blue alloy servo horn) for a while some time back. at 6volt = 5.5kg (6.3oz/in) which is decent enough for most use (maybe not enough for comp use though!). I agree, a full size servo is much better! I use a SAVOX SC-1251MG on my mini juice, a great servo, very fast and decent torque and being a low profile (full size) servo, does not take up too much room. It leaves enough clearance for my lipo to sit behind the servo on a thin plate fixed to the axle (above the front upper links). |

Mayhems rule! $29.99 and over 200oz at 4.8v or 220oz at 6v. This is the same one I am going to run in my MRC Pro Roller (finishing build this weekend). I also use it in my modded 4 linked MRC. http://store.rc4wd.com/Mayhem-High-T...vo-_p_484.html |

Snipervision, that is a great price for the oz. How long have you been running the Mayhem servo on the MRC? How often do you use the truck? Do you have weight in your wheels? |

also, the hs-85 mg is too small for the stock servo mounts, but put double-sided tape on the servo mount and it will hold forever
