MCR Pro, Motor, Pinion Help?

I am a total Newbie with 1.9 and need help finding the right motor and pinions.
So far I had to return one motor (wrong size) ended up at local Hobby Shop with a Reddy motor, which has a too short arm shaft and had to grind on pinion to get some kind of gear mesh. I need a 12 and 13 pinion, but have NO idea on which one to order (shaft size/pitch etc.).
Any help, links, info would greatly be appreciated.

I'm sorta in the same boat, just received a Losi MRC Pro.
Most brushed crawlers here run "540 cans" IIRC, the 1.9's run a "380 can" (can is the motor case size.....not BREASTS!!!!!:lmao::lmao:).
The 380 cans run a smaller diameter shaft, thus all my frikkin RC electric stuff (pinions) are too big for a 280 can output shaft.
Ka ching, Ka ching.......
I am not sure of the pitch, but a quick look seems to be a 48P......don't hold me to that.

On this forum, look to the "1.9 class" forum and see what they are running.

Just returned a 380 brushed Traxxas motor, too long and would not fit into motor plate and mounting screws didn't line up, so not to sure about 380 size.
The Reedy I just installed fits fine (except for a short shaft) and it is made for 1/18 scale and called a "Stump Puller" #290. Works OK except for the pinion problem, don't have full gear mesh.

Pinions I see in sets, but to get what I want I have to buy 2 sets ($30) and don't feel safe buying individually, just not sure which one?

280 is the direct bolt in size.

370 will fit with a little work to the motor plate.

Both need pinions with 2mm shaft diameter, .5 mod pitch

I run an Associated RC18T motor (~$10) in my MRC based scaler on 3s. Scoots pretty good, but the magic smoke comes out if it's bound up much. These little motors are fragile compared to the 540 sized motors.

Ahhh Haaa, Manning, this is what I was looking for. Thanks... Now I can search with some confidence and can stop having to return items.

+1, my bad. Based on this for the Reedy Stump Puller...... http://www.losipartshouse.com/servle...9-Stump/Detail it IS a 280 can, not a 380 can I posted before (I edited my post.....sorry).

i am planning on getting a mrc pro but as i read a 370 will or will not work what size do i need?

I just got my MRC Pro and cut to the chase with a Losi Xcelorin 18.5 crawler set up, used the included 15T pinion on a 2S and it works like a charm. (I have pinions from my RC18 and Mini-T.)

A 280 sized can brushed fits nice, anything larger will likely need "fiddleing"....

Look for RC-18/Mini-T type motors (1/18th scale motors).

Mini T = 280 motor = bolt in, no mods
RC18T = 370 motor = need to mod the motor plate a bit

Looks like a lot of learning before speaking."thumbsup":lmao:

Losi's Insane motor works very well in the Pro."thumbsup" Pair that with a Tekin FXR esc and you got a combo with good drag brake and wheel speed that will last a long time.

The losi RX-280 motor from a mini-t works great if you gear it down to a 12T (stock is 14t). Cheap to.

True, the MRC & little motors are new to me. I was going off some other info I read.
My apologies.8)
