Did some more traction board testing this morning, it is starting to drive nice.

Shot a little video, nothing exciting, just up a traction board and a flip or 2.

Embed seems to not be working in MRC forum, so here is a direct link:

I managed to do this during the 2nd flip...

Bummer on the CVD. Wonder what caused it to snap. torque or turning?

Regardless I have an idea. Apparently the LCC and the MRC have the same size ball on the CVD. Wonder if you could order the inner shafts from them and do the grind and shorten trick to get the beef up front?

When I break the next set I ordered replacements as soon as it happened and had not read about the lcc mod... I found that an hour afterwards.

It was from weight and torque, not turning. My front wheels are currently 10.1 oz each, that will change when new stuff gets here. I had been doing the backflips off the board for a few packs just messing around and to get used to the throttle control and how the rig reacted with the brushless system.

I think you are touching on the biggest argument, in my opinion for the knuckle weights. I just have to believe that weight in the wheels puts incredible stress on the drive shafts, and especially these little guys. I know you will be happy with that setup. Well that and the fact that Don is styling you out big time.

One thing I did not like about the GC3 is all the sharp edges. So I spent several hours sanding it all smooth. I cut some material off of the body mount\shock mount\cross members and rounded them off. And in the search of a little weight savings hogged out the skid a good bit. there is not a sharp edge anywhere on this thing now!

I may drop the tranny holes a bit too for the hunt for lower COG.

These showed up yesterday, they are soon to be released by Billet Works Design. I was fortunate enough to get my hands on a set early. Thanks Don

They have a taller diameter inside the tire than most 1.9 rims. The measure 1.89" at the bead and 2.75" total.

The channels stuff nicely with lead too!

3oz of lead, brings total weight to 6oz with tire mounted.

The wheels are .5" wide. To get the lead in, I took stick on weights, scraped the adhesive off. Broke them in to 2 weight pieces, curved the lead a little in a vice and got the leading edge into the slot in the wheel. Then put the wheel in the vice and slowly cranked the handle pushing it into the slot.

It taps out pretty easy too. Open the vice up to just larger than the rock ring and set the wheel inn the opening, put a punch, screwdriver, hex driver, etc. on the lead and gently tap it out.

While I have the rig apart I did some more cutting, grinding and drilling on the chassis to remove un needed weight. I had it bead blasted at work this morning. I am anxious to get home and start putting things together!

Those chassis plates look awesome, but more importantly those wheels are killer. I am going to need to get with Don on this. I would have been prone to create a little warping with the heat off the grinding on the plates but it looks like you definitely kept it nice and cool.

Getting there. I had a small issue with the motor, the sensor wire broke, and dad in town from out of state over the weekend. Fix it parts should be here tomorrow, hopefully my wife and son will let me have some build time before my mom gets in town this weekend.... Kids 1st birthday is Feb 9th so I have a slew of people coming and going to see him...

I made a bonehead error too. I ordered dlux weights not realizing that they do not fit mrc knuckles. So I need to to the conversion to lcc. All the parts for that showed up today

remix.... I got a little work done. I sanded down the C's to mount to the dlux mounts. Took a roller shot showcasing most bad ass wheels! And a body off shot of where the esc will go now to prevent the sensor wire from breaking do to articulation movement again...

I think I have it up high enough to protect it....

So I wasn't missing something after all. For a second you had me thinking I had ordered all the LCC stuff for nothing. Other than strength that is.

I am loving the the look of those wheels by the way
